    I was bringing this up in the other thread, but what about, specifically for Terrans, a second transport unit, that is larger and more durable, and allows specifically the transportation of larger units like Thors and Siege Tanks, and Medivacs are specifically relegated to transporting infantry?

    I'm not saying it's a good idea, but it would definitely change up gameplay.

    Or, we could have a second Terran transport unit that has more space, more health and more armor, but moves more slowly. The unit could also potentially be given that anti-air defense drone recently given to the Nighthawk.

    A second transport could get quite complex, and as has been said in other threads, Terrans can already fly their buildings. With this in mind there's no need for a second transport, just give the Thor Salvage.

    Well, the Thor is the Terran anti-small air unit; you may not always be able to build it on an island; certainly not immediately. Not being transportable would simply create too many balance issues against the Terrans. The other races effective AtA units are already as mobile as it can get.

    Terrans need to be able to compete. The Thor is already lacking in mobility, being a ground unit. It needs to be transported.

    And what about the zerg, can overlords/seers still transport units or is it all now up to the nydus network? Because as far as I know the nydus network can transport a LOT of units so how would this upgrade affect the zerg gameplay?

    Well my view on the whole Nydus thing has been:
    Nydus Worm (unit, sort of) - can unload, can retract, can morph to Nydus Canal.
    Nydus Canal (building) - can load/unload, requires creep.
    Nydus Warren (replaces Nydus Network, building) - can load/unload, can build/launch Nydus Worms, requires creep.

    Personally I can't see any room for expansion in the whole Nydus network, so if the Zerg get this ability at all it'll be the upgrade that allows Overlords to transport.

    I too think this is the best solution and it fits the race perfectly. It transformation must probably take a long time and it must of course be unable to attack in air mode besides being slow in air mode or the ability could become useful for other things than the goal of making it transportable, which we want to avoid.

    In Mechwarrior, certain mechs could have jumpjets intergrated into their legs. Thus, they couldn't fly, but instead make controlled jumps over small distances - this could apply to the Thor by having it able to jump over cliffs - thin rivers. Note this ability shouldn't be as agile as the Reapers, it should be slow and make the Thor vulnerable while doing it and even a short while after. It also needs cooldown.

    Too limited, a Thor needs to actually fly one way or another.
