Queue map downloads? Download in the background?

I'd really like to see bnet allow you to queue up a list of maps for download as well as download in the background so that you can go do something else, like chat with some bnet friends or go run a few real life errands. The mindless task of having to constantly watch the download progress so that I can start the next download is ridiculous. If it takes this long with regular melee maps, just imagine how long massive custom maps will take! They really need to fix the UI in this respect.

An augmentation to this could be the option to automatically download new and/or updated blizzard approved melee maps. Once you sign in, you are asked if you would like to download all of the latest blizzard approved maps: Yes or No. If you select yes, then all of the maps are queued up in the background as you go on your merry way. There might also need to be a check-box for blizzard made maps only, so as to filter out all of the random user made stuff that gets approved.

There are lots of ideas here in SCL like this one that are just great. Like in that other thread, someone thought of an option to remove the BC animation in the menus.

Maybe an official SC:L great ideas thread should be stickied?
How does a thread become sticky anyways?
Maybe mods could make the thread then also judge if the idea is worthy to be added?

I don't have long downloading times at all. It's maybe 10 seconds per map.

I'll willingly acknowledge that half of the problem is my fail-o-rific internet connection, but such an improvement would ONLY improve things for everyone. I'm sure you wouldn't mind if clicking once every 10 seconds became clicking 8 times within 3 seconds and being able to walk away. And like I said, don't just think about the small melee maps. Think about the large custom maps, especially the ones that are entire campaigns.

When i click to play 1v1, it update every map each after another. I can walf away if i want, but i am about to play so i stay^^.

I want both, or an option to toggle between them.

I also like the idea of downloading map updates on sign-in. That or just having those patched in and included, but that doesn't seem to be the trend lately.

I really like this idea. I would love to log in and having an option to download updates to either the custom maps that I have downloaded, or download updates to the blizzard made maps.

Sounds like an unaddressed issue. like a forgotten feature.

I think you should be able to queue custom maps and have them download in the background. Also have blizzard made maps automatically start downloading in the background, but it isn't in your queue and both download at the same time.
