True piracy on PS3 is not remotely practical because the games are such huge files (Blu-Ray FTW)
Lol you really wanted to prove something, and "forgot" the biggest crack in modern history, the ipod-iphone, made by the same guy you mentioned. Or at least was part of the same team who did it.Little detail you "forgot".
    Waiting...

I'm really happy that everyone is so gung-ho about Blizz stepping their game up here and everything, but can anyone offer a more objective analysis of this decision? Surely it's not all rainbows and flowers from here on out.

What sort of negative consequences can we expect as fall-out from a decision such as this one? Does KeSPA lose rights to ALL things SC, including SC1, or are we going to see a split between SC1 and SC2 which might hamper SC2's taking off as an eSport on launch?

Personally I feel its going to be hampered straight out the gate. It is getting a lot of good coverage so far I feel personally. A very good community is building already for SC2.

Trying to get people to convert will be the biggest problem. Especially the leagues. There are so many pro leagues with solid bases even with the gambling problems. Even with the official split those leagues won't stop, since Blizzard will have to go through a Copyright battle which won't be won easily if at all due to international and Asias views on pirating.

So really it will take good positive feedback on the way SC2 plays to get more players to come over. Especially those already tied into a pro org.

The Ball really lies in Blizzard's court.

If Progaming and broadcasting on SC2 fails there will always go back to a blizzard game called WOW. Who knows what Activision/Blizzard can pull off? They could start a whole new league and broadcasting system for all their games and in the end only KeSPA would lose out.
After all there is hype for a reason. SC2 is what all starcraft fans have been waiting for. If KeSPA didnt have it and SC2 was available elsewhere, the progamers would most likely jump ship.
Imagine the Superbowl 45 gets broadcasted by BBC instead of a US broadcaster. People wont care who is broadcasting it as long as they get to watch it.

I'll work on this in my spare time today... the wall of text may be coming. Who knows, if it gets large enough I may say screw it and go frontpage with it.

iPhone was impressive, but then again apple products are not that hard to crack. iPad got cracked on like day 1.

George Hotz is full of himself, he abused other OS which resulted in it being removed and then he made it seem like he did nothing wrong and wants to make custom firmware. Unfortunately for him, not every company is Apple.

Btw what exactly was i proving? I was pointing out a product that hasnt been cracked in all these years completely, partially because cracking it does nothing.

in response to the above quotation - Blizz said SC 1 will not be effected, they never had anything to do with SC 1, the SC-fiasco is what has caused Blizzard to force KeSPA to recognize IP-rights because Blizzard was screwed over by the Korean gov and KeSPA
