The only thing about phoenixes in my eyes is that at least their gas cost should be reduced same like the viking to 150/75 , BUT as i saw in that replay that really didn't bother the protoss player he even got robo bay+collosi/extende range

I've noticed that alot lately. all the pro toss players can get these high gass units and still manage to get an army. Either they are really good at making their gas go a long way you they expand like crazy.

They do deal 10 + 10 vs Light. It's just displayed as 5 + 5 vs Light x2

If you change the attack to 7+3 (from 5+5) and lower the energy cost of graviton beam to 25, they'd be used a lot more.

Right now they're almost useless vs terran outside of lifting tanks/thors, and are only used at a non-pro level for overlord hunting and muta countering.

They cannot lift Thors, nor Ultras. No Massive unit can be lifted.

They are really underused, they are eaten alive by viking and any ground unit that can shoot air. They only counter muta... little buff someone?

Phoenix are officially awesome. Check out the second replay in this post for an example of a sucessful Phoenix timing push in PvP in platinum league.

Granted, I still have trouble teching to them in PvZ and will rarely use them in PvT. But in PvP they're actually viable if you use them right. I believe you can use them to transition to attacking Colossi if the initial push doesn't work, though Phoenix will retain their usefulness all game.
