SC:L Fan Art/Wallpaper Contest

Welcome to StarCraft: Legacy's Fan Art/Wallpaper Contest! For this contest, participants are encouraged to create a completely original piece of artwork that shows a critical moment in the StarCraft story/timeline. The winner's art will be used in a SC:L editorial/feature. All pieces of art should be set in the SC universe and the entries will be judged on their composition, detail, dynamic, lighting, message, and overall aesthetic pleasure.

The following prizes are up for grabs:

1st - 1 StarCraft II Beta Key & a special limited edition print of SC:L's header control art
2nd - 1 StarCraft II Beta Key
3rd - 1 StarCraft II Beta Key
4th - 1 StarCraft II Beta Key

Ah crud, I'm not nearly good enough to compete with the real heavy hitters in the community of SC fan artists, but I'm going to give this a shot, anyway! Exams finish on the 15th of June, so I can't wait to get cracking!

What size you want it to be in?

Completely original will be hard since I guess it requires at least decent rendering-skills or drawing-skills

By completely original, does that mean we cannot repurpose a video screenshot from the game or piece of concept art created by Blizzard? If so my chance is shot.

The article doesn't say that originality is a requirement. You can use whatever you want - it's a wallpaper contest. No size requirement.

I assume your decision will not depend on whether the fan art is made traditionally or digitally as long as the overall quality of the fan art is acceptable.
(sry if the question sounds weird, I couldn't find better words to describe; god damn it, gotta refresh my vocabluary a bit lol)

that is correct - any medium is fine. If someone wants to sculpt a mutalisk and photograph it - more power to them.
