Benchmarks a bit misleading in this area. You still want the fastest CPU you can afford. The graphics card is less important but I wouldn't reccommend anything less than a GTS 250.

If you want to play on max, yeah, a gts 250.

I'm surprised how efficient this game is with the video card. Probably could get away with a low-profile card on Medium settings, as long as the processor is a dual core or higher.

Good example: This guys running a Pentium Dual Core 2.5 and 2gb of ram + GF9500. Runs on High settings very well.

@Crazy_Johnny: In retail, you're going to be playing 3v3 and 4v4 as well as monster UMS. You need a better computer than that.

This had somehow slipped through my mind.

If I had more money right now, I'd see how well those lovely new 6-core AMD processors ran the game. But, I don't, so I'll have to rely on someone else to do it for me lol.

    Hi,

I'd be interested to know how my computer would handle it. It has great processors but a not so great graphics card.

    It's a mac pro 8 core 2.8ghz xeon with radeon 2600 HD(256mb) graphics card.

I wonder if anyone has been using a setup like this with bootcamp.

Those six cores won't run the game any better than a dual core.

True, in the sense of actual cores, but the 1090T has massive overclocking potential. In fact, the 1090T has hit 4.2ghz easily. Since higher clock-speed = better performance in SC2, there's absolutely everything to love about these new chips, especially considering AMD's 6-core offering is about $900 cheaper than Intel's.

doubtful, the i7-980X brings a big performance gap between the fastest i7-965 4 core, but that is the intel version of six core CPU, the AMD ones will perform better than C2D ones, hell AMD Phenom II 965BE outperforms them
