if were not comparing ultras to raw roaches it gets hard to compare effectivness compared to gas use.

i also tried throwing some hydras in there, but they didnt perform well at all. maybe i forgot to add their range ugprade, ill check that later.

Ultraling has a bizarre synergy in SC2 in that unlike SC1, BOTH units do pretty good damage. In fact, the Ultralisk's DPS for cost might even be better than the Zergling's thanks to splash, its special anti-building attack, and the fact that Zerglings have less DPS in SC2! So we have this perverse situation where maybe the lings are taking Marauder hits for the Ultras, allowing the Ultras to get their DPS in.
when i let the autoattack hadnle it, ultras soaked all the damage. pathing is a problem though; lings re faster and will run in front, preventing ultras from attacking as much as you'd want. it would reward micro though; to flank properly with lings to leave room for utlras to engage the front.

... i tried some with Ultra/ling compared to roach/ling too.. with upgrades, the ultra/ling performed better.

    gotta run now. peace.

my experiance with roaches is that they work good as long they are microed to kill one unit at atime otherwise there slow attack dooms them to loose, but microed roaches in this manner can decimate an army

I've been reading and writing English...and only English...since I was four years old (27 now) and I still don't know all the rules to this crazy language, either. And I never got less than a B+ in any grammar or English class or course I ever took.

And if English is your second language, you get a huge pass in my opinion when it comes to grammar and punctuation. Especially on an internet forum...

As long as the point gets across, the language, whichever language that happens to be, has served its purpose. Let's all try not to get caught up in our underwear over grammar semantics.

    It isn't worth it.

So if your playing a toss or terran turtle which is better to go for an army mixed with ultras or BL?

Macro will win the game but which is stronger as far as making that final push?

Another question is when is a good time to hive tech?
As soon as your opponent changes to Marauders you should go heavy for speedlings (which you need to have researched already).
    If:
Marine/hellion-heavy army: Roaches (and maybe banelings but usually only roaches work very well)
    Marauder-heavy army: Speedlings

Ofc your opponent will never spam 1 single unit, and you shouldn't either.
The trick is to compose your army depending on his army. You should always have both Speedlings and Roaches out (at least early game), but if you want to have Speedlings>Roaches (in numbers) or Speedlings<Roaches (in numbers) depends on how the terran army look. His army changes dynamically and you need to follow it, or more accurate: both of you try to counter each others armies through composing units by looking at the opponents army=P

In the meantime try to get hydras up (or mutalisk if you wanna harass) and get upgrades when you can aswell (obviously:P).
