Meh I guess when I say 26, I should add that it's 26x2 since he's got two guns... So the answer is 26 volleys.

In fact it doesn't take exactly double that because the 2nd shot of the 26th volley goes to waste. The correct answer is therefor 26 volleys, or exactly 51 shots (the 51st shot kills the roach, so the 52 doesn't really hit it).
