Thread: Suicidal unit bug needs fixing!

Default Suicidal unit bug needs fixing!

I have been seeing this bug more often now since I see a lot more protoss push early game (where it is more easily noticed). Basically, what happens is that if your units are attacked shortly after issuing a move command some of those units will ignore the move command and move in to attack, which can often lead to you basically giving away your resources.

Here is a quick clip from a recent PvZ in which it happened to me:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mq1Zw4q3fBA

First part: My PoV cam in slow motion to clearly show that they ignored the move command
Second part: A different viewing in normal game speed (faster)
Third part: Same in slow mo
Final part: My PoV cam in normal game speed (which incidentally shows another bug, in which you dont always get warnings when units are under attack, not even a text warning on the side... this also needs to be fixed).

I think I saw this bug in action again in a Bo5 between Machine and HuK when Machine's queen seemingly suicided itself after the rest of his forces pulled back.

Hunh - that's interesting. I don't recall that ever happening to me, but then again, I lose so many units that I probably wouldn't have noticed ^_^.

Might I ask what program you use to record videos? That looked really slick!

Fraps (the text in the top left is from livestream's pro caster though) to record
Virtualdub to put them together and compress

Yeah, I believe that I've seen this quite a few times... It seems like the computer AI holds priority over the players actions in some cases...

This definitely needs to be fixed. The players actions should always hold priority over the computer AI.

I don't see the problem...you move clicked away, then you attack moved and then your Zealots responded to your attack move. The stalkers didn't because they where just outside of the sight attack radius....maybe im missing something

Thats the bug, I didnt attack move (or ctrl+click move) but for some reason it interpreted a simple right click as an attack move (or decided it should be one, or something).

I don't know what to say. the video just makes it look like you attack moved. But i'm just looking at the lower right command buttons.
But if you did just sraight up right click then that sucks, and hopefully it's fixed soon.

Hope you sent this to blizzard.

Shift + right-click = attack move. Although I'm sure you didn't click that combination.

Post this on battle.net's forum as well.

I'm pretty sure that's Ctrl+right click. Shift +right click does command queuing.

Also, it's possible he just pressed Ctrl by accident.

I know I didnt ctrl+click since the only time I touch control is for setting control groups. And, as you can see, I dont use many control groups :P

I am a left handed mouse user so my hand doesnt even rest over the control button.
