Is this a joke? Because if it is, it's not very funny.

The occasional line is okay. But if I'm in the middle of something, like being attacked, or scouting, I won't reply.

This thread disappointed me; the title showed more, but it is just tactless and rage talking.

It's good to express what should noobs do, but anger talking doesn't solve anything. In act, it makes you look ridiculous.

You could have expressed the idea in a different way. For example:

Don't Talk could be said like:

It is always part of formality in players to say gl hf (good luck, have fun) at the beginning of a match and gg (good game) at the beginning. People who do this are often considered normal players or even if you get defeated hardly and still congratulate the other one is considered to be a good player/loser.

Also, don't talk more than the necessary during a match because you can make your teammate get distracted and this frustrates him/her. Restrict to saying important things and team strategy. Use the pre-match lobby or aftermath for more casual talking, instead.

    LMAO!

Nice video Island snake I agree with half the points in the OP's post. But ppl will be ppl - and they are idiots when on the internet with the power of anonymity. Being behind the computer makes their dick grow bigger in their heads. Just remember that. The more they act like dicks the better YOUR chance of winning cuz you stay focussed and own his shit with smart scouting and countering. Hang in there till you have him beaten down to the ground, then toy with him and taunt him back ^_^ !

I talk constantly in ladder games nothing wrong with some freindly banter

And when people rage its so fun to make them more angry as well.

Also after a patch be sure to remind the players what the nerfs were!

For instance after zealots got nerfed I remined my fellow protoss player if his lots just had a bit more hp they might of lived!! ( when it was obvious he wouldnt )

Talking is how I find alot of my practice partners ^_^

Hmm, quite a few people here getting upset at the OP! Maybe the shoe really does fit!

TWD, thank you. You may have been more blunt than many would have liked, but your words were perfect. I gave up on online gaming for many, many, many years because I don't suffer idiots very well. I still only play a handful of games each week, and it's mostly because of people who don't follow these (and a few more) rules.

Note: I only talk during a game when it's not ladder. Other than that, I say GLHF, answer any questions about leagues, and get to the strategy. If I wanted to spend my time chatting I would be in a chat lobby, not playing a game.

What? his tone is horrible and half of his post is completly pointless, its obvious hes letting things get to him.

    You aren't that good.
Hate to break it to you guys, but the matchmaking system in this game is pretty good. You're going to lose somewhere between 40-60% of the time. So just get over it already.
Ok....and this is pretty much a pointless statement o.0

    Don't talk.
Nobody is interested in reading your trash talk. Say glhf at the start, and gg at the end. Other than that keep your mouth shut.
Keep your mouth shut? Geez this game might as well be single player if we arent allowed to talk - lord for bid people be friendly.

    Don't waste my time.
If you know you're going to lose don't drag the game out any longer than you have to. I can see how sometimes it's worth it because you can learn a lot in that last little bit. However, trying to drag the game out as long as you can just out of spite is not cool.
This has merit, and it is annoying sometimes

    Winning is winning.
Nobody cares if you lost to cheese, OP units, or whatever other excuse you have to make up to protect your pride. You lost and that's all there is to it.
Winning is winning eh? So If I win the game by floating my buildings and wasting your time until you finally give up then you have no right to complain right?

People always bitch when they don't win - because people bitch about everything.

    Trolling gets you nowhere.
If my teammate starts trolling I take them off my friends list. It's that simple. You have no clue how many opportunities you are missing by being a complete jerk to everyone you meet. You might think "oh it's ok because I'll never see these people again". Such thinking is shortsighted.
Theres a differnce between good fun and trolling, but yeah people troll big deal. Missing what opportunities? If i follow your awesome guide i wont MEET anyone because we aren't allowed to speak.

So bassicaly your saying "don't be a asshole" "eat your veggies and behave" No one is going to read this guide and say "Hayyy woaaaah I should stop acting like a pirck". Specially with your "blunt" tone, if anything it means there getting the reaction they want out of people.

IF your going to make a guide, make a guide and not a post to vent your multi-player frustrations

Where is there any rage/anger talking? He was definitely direct, but not calling out anybody, or going off on wild personal tangents. Its good advice - thats it. Take it or leave it.
