Oh, yeah. I should probably mention that the only time I talk is when I'm playing with friends. As in every person in the map is on my friends list. Which is comprised of people from SC. With the exception of one person - not many people I know have the Beta.

All I know is that Hamshank is gifted with the worst timing when it comes to sending messages to me while I'm in the middle of a game .

Actually, just about any time in-between the start of the game and the end is bad .

Yeah that's for sure! I guess TWD was talking more about when you're playing against random people.

I don't say it doesn't fit. It does, but theres always a way to talk that doesn't include harsh language.

And about the anger talk, I mean he probably talked (wrote actually) when he was mad. Maybe what he wrote just happened to him. When youre mad you start doing irrational things, you need to chill out and think what just happened.

You've obviously never played a game where towards the end the other person gripes and blames all of his losses on the "matchmaking service always putting me with you higher idiots." Direct quote.

Keep your mouth shut? Geez this game might as well be single player if we arent allowed to talk - lord for bid people be friendly.
If you want to be friendly, do so a very few times during the match, but otherwise do it after the match. When I play, I concentrate, and I don't want my concentration ruined by an overly chatty, or worse, an overly annoying/mean player.

Winning is winning eh? So If I win the game by floating my buildings and wasting your time until you finally give up then you have no right to complain right?
If you did that I'd never speak to you again. I don't complain when I get proxy pyloned, I accept it and say GG. Otherwise there are plenty of people who say "omg you suck cheezer" (another direct quote, although I wasn't even cheesing him)

Sometimes people need something a bit harsh to get the point across. He may have been mad when he posted it, I don't know, but the points are valid even if the tact is a bit missing.

Yeah I have, but that doesn't warrant that part of the post - and besides matchmaking is pretty bad right now, but thats not the point! What kinda guide tells your that your not good at the start.

If you want to be friendly, do so a very few times during the match, but otherwise do it after the match. When I play, I concentrate, and I don't want my concentration ruined by an overly chatty, or worse, an overly annoying/mean player.
After the match? Like after they leave? Theres plenty of time to talk to someone during a match - and if they arent the talktive type you just dont spam then. If there talking to nothing then there just being a ass - still doesn't mean you should instruct people to not speak during the game.

If you did that I'd never speak to you again. I don't complain when I get proxy pyloned, I accept it and say GG. Otherwise there are plenty of people who say "omg you suck cheezer" (another direct quote, although I wasn't even cheesing him)
Obviously I wouldn't do that, mostly because its not worth the time - but the point is its similar to the first post and I feel like its unnecessary.

Sometimes people need something a bit harsh to get the point across. He may have been mad when he posted it, I don't know, but the points are valid even if the tact is a bit missing.
Yes it doesn't hurt to be harsh, but when making a guide to how to act properly during the game is not the time to act harsh - this would be a much better guide it was worded better, and elaborated a bit. Not that a guide is necessary on this, since really unless it was themed towards a new player coming into the RTS world(which its not) we already know this crap.

    1. Don't act like a jackass online.
    End of guide.

More thought coulda been put into this.

Im obviously in the minority here so thats fine, even I can be harsh at times ;d

Personal I belive if someone tell you GG before you GG on a losing game you have all rights to Stall and be a the biggest ..... (no polite word for that space) you can be. But you should GG when you are killed.

Ya... IslandSnake is right, it's not really a helpful guide... Talking is part of any online game. If you don't want to talk, you can just mute the guy and ignore him. However, this is advice but I wouldn't necessarily call it good advice.

Did this a few games ago. Guy said GG while taking out my base (while I had two expos). I was like "oh really fuckface?" Not in chat, mind you. Didn't win unfortunately (that'd be like the best replay ever), but I did take the fight into his base and his expos, and lasted another 15 minutes or so. He kept saying "gg?"

It's GG when I say GG and leave the game.
