    Default [Replays/Feedback] Raisk, Zerg player

Well this morning I've been having non-stop ZvZ action and it was really starting to annoy me going roaches all the time, so I decided to try this build instead and it worked amazingly. Basically just using zerglings against the nerfed roach, check it out here.

Here's the build order I went:
    10 Overlord
    14 Pool
    14 Extractor
    14 Evolution Chamber
    15 Overlord
    16 Queen
    18 Ling
    19 Drone
then just use your first 100 vespene on melee attack and second lot on zergling speed and they should evolve about the same time.

After this point I do mix up the build a bit and havent refined it, but pump a couple more drones and keep doing zerglings, making sure not to get supply capped. If he switches to banelings (like this guy did), you just switch to roaches. Berry berry simple.

Of course this guy did leave before I could finish him off, but the time I had harassing him allowed me to expo and get ahead macro-wise so it does work quite nicely in your favour.

EDIT: Added extractor build time and thought I should point out Ill be adding any interesting replays I get to this thread as well.

I hope this doesn't come off as too harsh, but here it goes anyways.

Your opponent's build is extremely flawed. Instead of getting the Queen out as quickly as possible he instead opted for the Roach warren. He delayed his Queen by almost 30 seconds. If he hadn't of done this he could of had 4 more roaches by the time you first attacked. He wouldn't have lost his Queen, and would have easily countered you. He also would have done better if the clash between lings and roaches happened within range of the crawler, or he had a second one.

Also your build is extremely susceptible to a rush. He scouted you early with 1 ling. However, he could have had lings in your base 30 seconds earlier. You didn't even have your Queen up at this point. He only did a 10 pool, and not one very optimized for rushing. Think of what could have happened if he did the 8pool.

No offence taken. I did post this here to receive feedback after all and am not professing to being a top-tier player, currently in silver but clawing my way up. Sure 8 pool would be tough to hold off, but then I have not fallen victim to this strategy a single time yet. I have managed to hold off a proxy gate rush with 13 pool though and just putting up a spine crawler when I scouted it. So i guess getting pool at 13 would be an option.

You offer a lot of criticism but no way to improve myself however which is unfortunate.

EDIT: Adding ZvZ replay, using this build against 10 pool zerglings. Although I do go 13 pool, 13 extractor i think this time.. and the timings arent perfect and I accidentally built two overlords.. but managed to hold off this guys aggression cuz my lings were just stronger. Also banes ftw!

    Zerg spine crawler cheese!

This strat is definitely an all-in 8 pool. The basics behind it lie in the fact that when one places a hatchery it leaves some creep behind even if canceled. This is by no means my idea, but inspired by something I read at team liquid. Furthermore, I think it only works on maps with short distances such as Steppes of War.

Included is a replay obviously. (It's not perfect, but then again I rarely get to play this map..)

I do have to mention that I was drunk when doing said maneuver so its not as fluid as it could be. But the basic BO is as follows:

    8 pool
    7 queen

then keep pumping lings with the odd drone if you feel like it. Once your Queen hatches Spawn Larvae on your main and send her (along with 3 drones) to your opponents base, in this scenario I forget to send drones a.s.a.p. with her as I should, however the theory is that you use one drone to build a hatchery and then cancel it immediately. Use your Queen to place a creep tumor on the canceled hatchery's creep and then build three crawlers on the ensuing creep.

It's basically a Zerg version of the Bunker rush!

I'll add more replays if I get the chance to play this Zv(TP) on Steppes of War again any time soon. Since I don't have any practice buddies I can't really vouch for the effectiveness of this build. It is fun though!
