I'm sure it is. I just liked seeing what rank each unit was in normal games. Again, not a big thing, just personal preference.

I also fail to see how bugs in the game's programming are any more 'natural micro' than intended micro mechanics introduced by the programmer. The abilities themselves are broad enough that some interesting micro can be done with it.

For example, fast-moving Phoenix with anti-gravity and Stalkers with blink. You have some pretty durable spotters for moving up and down cliffs. You have anti-gravity to give your stalkers an edge in a fight.

As for the other races, there's Hydralisks with Overlords. Overlords make Hydralisks move faster (and can transport them), Hydralisks protect overlords from ATA and GTA units well. And there's a lot of positional micro involved with that. (Keeping your Overlords away from Vikings for example.)

And Marauder kiting... and... I dunno. I just fail to see how Mutalisk stacking or Vulture patrol micro is cooler than that. But it's just my opinion.

What I have yet to see is a micro arm's race. People don't use micro, so their opponent doesn't need to either. But I think when we start to see Protoss players making better use of blink. Zerg players getting more out of burrow and creep. Etc. etc. We'll see a lot more micro used in the game.

I'm finding a lot of it is the player's fault, not the game's.

And the macro mechanics have good and bad things about them. *Shrug* I hardly think they're JUST APM sinks, though. (Though that's clearly a major aspect of them.)
Thank you Aldrius for at least understanding my concerns (it seems there are still some people here who actually played both Brood War and SC2).

Its not out yet, really hate that.

But i suppose you are talking about gameplay huh? Well the mothership has certainly fallen as of late, thought it was an interesting unit when i used it at blizzcon09 and it looked good at beta start as well, as others have likely said before me now though, it has lost most of its unique abilities and become an arbiter (though I really like the ability to cloak buildings), really at this point they could just lose it and bring the arbiter or star relic (early sc2 arbiter unit) back, but i'm hoping that they switch out abilities some more instead.

I hate that they seem to have neutered most of the cool things we saw at the reveals. Zerg and terran are just boring and pretty badly designed tbh. I don't really care though because I'm a protoss player. And user-made patches will fix the game within 6 months of release anyways, so why worry?

Really to me it I think the worst element is the game's inaccessibility to newcomers and casual players. No, really. The "Annihilation" victory condition is just too brutal for some people, akin to "Deathmatch" in FPS games in where the guy with the most frags wins. This is great in a competitive setting, but scares away a lot of potential players.

The plan appears to be to let the single-player, challenges, and comp stomps help wean in newer/slower players, but I still feel that there is an issue with not providing a clear multiplayer outlet for those who'd like to just log in and have some fun.
