    Of course I'd be arguing the opposite. But the point is I haven't been looking at a different animation for 12 years, I've been looking at this one. And whatever else, "acid+spine" is certainly more unique among monster attacks than just "spine."

    I certainly prefer it over the old one. The zerg have enough "Vague acid attacks" anyway.

    Of course, adding some green muzzle effect like Wasted suggested would be fine, but a complete reversion to the old one would be stupid. Moreso because the roach already shoots what appears to be acid.

    I will agree that the new animation is just worse.


    The best would be "Old Animation, Slight Green Muzzle spray, Current Projectile, Current sound" imo.

    How could you want the current one?

    And how is it stupid? Was the old hydra attack anim as thick as that of the current roach missile? It was just a spray right?

    I mean, I just don't see what you're seeing man, and I'd like to know how you came to appreciate it.

    And the roach's attack animation is bad. It's like throwing a bucket of green goo in a wet party. That as well should be changed.

    I think I remember reading in the book Liberty's Crusade, that it's more like a rain of smaller spikes rather than 1 large spike.

    How about you see a flurry of needles come out from the Hydra's opening with acid flying out kinda like a muzzle-flash, and then you see black smoke (for acid effect) as a hit effect animation.

    I definitely think the Hydra needs a slightly flashier hit animation now that it's tier 2 with a pretty powerful attack.

    Because roaches shoot acid, hydralisk shoot spines. I like that distinction. Hydralisks shooting acid jets, roaches shooting acid...buckets...would be stupid.

    Animations that need facelift:

    Phoenix' attack (Kinda boring)
    Roach's attack (Make it less thick, more muzzle flash and impact hit)
    Hydralisks attack (add in a acid flash and keep the projectile)
    Zergling's attack (Spasming while doing dmg isn't cool)
    Corrupters attack (probably the most boring attack I've ever seen in game)
    Mutalisks attack (wtf is it a bag of trash that explodes on people?)
    Drone attack (I cannot believe they removed the spitting. Now drones touch and feel up the enemy)

    So you want to change the Roach's attack so that it looks almost exactly like the way you want the Hydralisk's attack to look?

    Now with proper depth, you wouldn't be able to see anything.
