Thread: Hydralisk saliva looks too awful.

Somehow I've never seen the solution proposed: why not combine the two? Have the acid spit for the sound/visual that accompanies the physical reaction, but then the spine itself is the actual projectile that we can see coming out.

    It seems so common sense...

I wouldn't mind that. Althought they really need to look at Roach projectile. It's so distracting.

They need to fix this so that you can't see the spines, you just see a acidic like flash on their muzzle and a impact hit.
In that case, why can we see the Stalker and Battlecruiser's laser blasts? They're lasers, which means they're supposed to move at the speed of light. The answer is because realistic physics plays second fiddle to visual effects.

I think I said that a couple times months back, but nobody said much in reply.

I don't care that it's a spine, but the looks and sounds are lackluster. Frankly, they called it a spine attack in the past, so I don't see what the big difference is; just go with what looks best.

Lasers, who told you it was a laser? It could've been a hot stream of plasma or some otherworldly energy. The fact that it is weirdly colored means it has some other property to it therefore kinetic energy isn't a factor. In fact, they might even shoot explosive rounds since if you notice stalker's rounds hit them units then has a weird flash to it.

But things that need kinetic energy, like Thor's cannon, Tanks canon or marine machine gun or ghost sniper. Marauder's rounds are slow because they are explosive.

Now apply the same logic to Hydralisk. You'll see that it doesn't work so well.

I always thought that it was a spine attack lubricated by saliva.

I know I wouldn't mind my "spine" getting lubricated in saliva right now

The game told us it was a laser. BC's weapons:

    ATS laser battery/ATA laser battery

    Bump, set, spike.

I'd like to see a small salvo, instead of just a single spine - combined with some kind of trail like seen on tracer rounds.
