You mean, you liked PvZ because it was the most unbalanced MU in the game, favoring Zerg so heavily that Protoss almost never had a chance? That is what you meant, right?
Quit your Zerg whining please. If you were more than bronze league Zerg the roach/hydra combo was one of the absolute hardest things for protoss to bust, and then they nerfed Storm which made it even harder. If you don't believe me ask Island, who I'm sure is one of the more experienced players around Legacy. PvZ was quite possibly the hardest matchup in the game...for Protoss.
Now Toss actually has a true chance in PvZ and for the first time since the Beta has started I'm screaming from the rooftops THANK YOU BLIZZARD!

Oh please. I killed most Protoss's with Muta/Ling, not Roach/Hydra.If you were more than bronze league Zerg the roach/hydra combo was one of the absolute hardest things for protoss to bust, and then they nerfed Storm which made it even harder.
And I'm Gold League thank you very much.

I hope for TvZ since, it's the match that is most gentle for my nerves. TvT makes me think of all the mistakes I can make that can cost me the win, and if it's TvP, I'm either afraid I haven't covered my ass enough in case P attacks with DTs, or I get rushed by Zealots and it's over for me there.
Btw. I would like to ask two questions considering TvP and TvZ.
TvP: I know I'm a newbie when it comes to SC MP, and that I'm a nervous wreck when it comes to compete against other people, but beside the fact, that I'm too slow how the hell can I as terran get so easily rushed by Zealots, and how can I counter that beside having a walled in base with a few M&Ms behind the barracks shooting at the neverending wave of zealots?
TvZ: Is the only way on tier 1-1.5 to counter Hydras or Hydra/Roach with my M&Ms to bring along Siege Tanks? Marines are supposed to be strong against Hydras, yet they get sliced through like butter whenever I have M&Ms and meet Hydras (or ofc. Hydra/Roach), even though I'd say our armies are equal in size.
I'm not a good player, never really played SC1 MP, since I'm a sucker for SP, so ofc I'm still learing alot, and I don't micro if any at all, but I don't see where I'm getting it THAT much wrong. Anyone can enlighten me? ;P

In part you answered your own question -- having a solid wall with a solid mass of Marauders behind it will do wonders. If that's not enough, though, you can always keep him contained with a force of 5-8 Reapers. Reapers are excellent vs. Zealots (just use cliffs) AND can force him to run back to his base once his economy's been hit. He's gonna have to pull a tech switch fast.
Ever since I started using Reapers, I've found that P have the least effective tools for dealing with them. Of the 3 units that shut down Reaper harass (Roach, Rauder, Stalker) Stalkers are the least standard and the most cumbersome to get around a base in time to protect it from all sides.
Are you staying on top of your upgrades? +1 attack is huge for Marines, and using Stim (with Medivac support) is crucial to taking out Hydras. As far as I can tell, though, MMM+tanks is indeed a Terran's best bet.TvZ: Is the only way on tier 1-1.5 to counter Hydras or Hydra/Roach with my M&Ms to bring along Siege Tanks? lmao @ some of the ridiculous imbalance statements made in this thread good god people.
Anyway, I like PvT And TvZ from both sides, there very dynamic and fun to mess around with specially TvZ with the newer builds coming up from both sides. PvT is very interesting from both sides as well since you can really exploit people for rushing for tech - after this new patch it will be even more interesting with mech getting better.

Thanks for the advice on the zealot rush, even though I wouldn't be able to do that much once I'm rushed. Need to see if maybe it's only my pace.
Yes, ever since I heard SaharaDrac about Stim and the upgrades I'm always getting them. Also I need to make the Eng.Bay in order to make Towers in case the Protoss players sends DT later on.Are you staying on top of your upgrades? +1 attack is huge for Marines, and using Stim (with Medivac support) is crucial to taking out Hydras. As far as I can tell, though, MMM+tanks is indeed a Terran's best bet.
I was thinking that I needed to micro a bit, by getting the marines behind the marauders, but I guess I'll need to start using Tanks in assaults rather than defence. Should they go in siege mode if I encounter mass hydras or are they also great against hydras in tank mode? (I'm a bad micro player, so I need to know what I gotta learn and what I can live without.)![]()

Muta/Ling has so many Protoss counters you must have been playing copper league people. Roach/Hydra, on the other hand, in sufficient numbers, in the hands of those who know how to use them...
Whoo, sounds like Team Liquid in here! Kindly get off your high horse and actually pay attention for once, would you Nicol? You are not the omniscient end-all of SC2 knowledge. If you really want to pull rank, Island is Gold league 1v1, his Zerg friend I play with is Platinum league 1v1. And both of them will inform you that PvZ was one of the hardest matchups, and that roach/hydra is one of the most effective ways of doing it.And I'm Gold League thank you very much.
For every patch until now Protoss has been at the harsh end of the balancing stick. Zerg finally gets a nerf that makes sense, from all highest standards, and people like you do nothing but complain about it. It's really quite amusing.

Yeah I won't deny it, a passive zerg player its really hard to beat as protoss.
Theres so many things the zerg can do that the protoss needs different tech to counter, bassicaly if you don't win with a timing push before they get there 3rd base or at least do some damage your chances of winning are very low.
Check out all the tournment vods its exactly what ends up happening like everytime the protoss wins they push out with a nice timing push and it either barely wins or dose enough damage to make them even. But really most of the time zerg wins unless they do something stupid like attack, as zerg you don't have to attack to win really.
Even idra switched from protoss to zerg because of this lol
At the end of the day this is a damn beta, the balance changes constantly and it takes a good 100 games to even get a matchup down you guys should be exploring these matchups more before complaining about them!
