Bumping this old thread to let you all know that Blizzard plans to release a lot of keys on FaceBook today at 1:00 PST. They say they will be giving away thousands of keys over the coming weeks every Thursday at this time.

If you still need a key, this might be your best opportunity.

Releasing a dozen keys at random times is annoying, but if they release hundreds at a pre-announced time, you might have a chance.

^ Yeah... They are gone so fast it's a joke. Tried the one that took place 30 minutes ago... I typed one pretty quickly and hit add game. It didn't give me an error or any message saying that this key has already been taken, so I thought maybe I got one. Due to this, I went back to my main account page and didn't see anything relating to the SC2 beta, so that was disappointing.

One of my friend been trying to get one with this contest and it's just ridiculous. The keys are gone in less than 3 seconds. Do you know how fast those people types? Really fast. (or they somehow have bots that can take the keys).

^ Yeah, it is sad. Even more sad I have tried it three times, despite knowing I probably won't ever get one... Why does Blizzard have to be so odd? I mean make us do some calculus (or something relating to intelligence) before you give it to the 14 year-olds :P

If they are giving away as many keys as the claim, then A) Why not give them to the opt-ins? and B) Why don't they make it an OPEN beta?

P.S. What are the chances of an open beta ever happening?

They are still giving keys to opt-ins... Most recent wave was late Tuesday into Wednesday morning.

As far as open beta, I wouldn't expect that till mid May at the earliest.
