    StarCraft II Beta � Patch 8 (version 0.10.0.14803)

    TERRAN
    Thor
    Build time decreased from 75 seconds to 60 seconds.
    Siege Tank
    Build time decreased from 50 seconds to 45 seconds.
    Marauder
    Concussive Shells now require an upgrade.
    Barracks Tech Lab
    Concussive Shells upgrade added.
    Concussive Shells upgrade costs 100/100 and takes 80 seconds to complete.



    PROTOSS
    Void Ray
    Changed to only have 2 damage levels instead of 3. Still takes the same amount of time to fully charge.
    Base damage changed from 2 (+4 armored) to 5.
    Powered-up damage changed from 8 (+16 armored) to 10 (+15 armored).
    Armor value decreased from 1 to 0.
    Cost increased from 200/150 to 250/150.



    ZERG
    Roach
    Burrowed move speed decreased from 2 to 1.4.
    Armor value decreased from 2 to 1.
    Hydralisk
    Life decreased from 90 to 80.

    Looks like they're stepping up to try to make the Marauder/Roach function more as a support unit, and not stand out as well on their own (as much of the discussion was going on about this week). I'll be interested to see if it has the intended effects.

    Gonna have to test the new Ray to see how it performs, the changes are extensive.
    1 less Armor on the Roach is not enough.
    And they seriously decided to fix the Marauder by making its SLOWING an upgrade?
    Fuck.

    @XSoldier

    If they wanted the Marauder to be a better support unit they'd have kept its slowing inate and decreased its damage. Instead they relegated its biggest support ability to an upgrade. I'm guessing so Zealots and Zerglings would be more useful against them early on.

    Wow... jeez.

    This patch is... wow.

    The Void Ray change is very odd, I'm not sure what it means... I'll have to test this out for myself.

    Pretty sure it's max damage is higher, though... so... it's going to kill buildings even faster. Wonderful.

    The Roach change is DEVASTATING. The Hydralisk change is going to make psi storm very effective against them... (one psi storm will now kill a hydralisk.)

    The factory changes are very nice, but the concussive missile being an upgrade isn't something I really agree with personally... I don't know.

    1 less Armor on the Roach is not enough.
    Yeah, sure. I'm gonna love fighting zealots with them now. Ugh. +1 Chargelots are gonna be unstoppable now without mutalisks.

    Oh please, Zealots are nigh worthless until they get +1 Charge anyway.

    Just wait and see.

    Granted, come to think of it, the Hydralisk nerf bugs me more. Roaches will at least still be resilient to Colossi, siege mode tanks and psi storm and things which is mainly what I used them for. Hydralisks have turned into glass cannons... even storm dodging on creep won't save them from psi storm now.

    This is actually a huge buff for the Queen, though. She's now better against zealots than the roach is.

    Well Terran officially sounds bad to me now, with the Concussive Shells needing an upgrade. The mech changes are good though, at least for Tanks. I still would almost never use Thors for anything.

    I guess the Void Ray change is to make it fare better in actual battles vs. army units. But since there's only 2 levels now, does that mean its damage downgrades alot faster after it gets charged up?

    That's the way it was in SC1, and storm has already been nerfed so much in regards to its radius and range.
