Do we know if AT vs. RT games happen in the Beta right now? I would have thought not, but two games I've played made me think otherwise:
1. In one game I got into by selecting 2v2 RT, one opponent left. The remaining opponent remarked that while he would ordinarily play on, he would leave in this case because he wanted to keep playing with "that guy" (the one who left)--but this makes no sense if the two opponents were paired randomly.
2. In another ostensibly 2v2 RT game, both opponents were named "BadFishx." So either the matchmaker miraculously paired two players who had the same odd name, or they were friends. (See attached screenshot. The fact that the final scorecard somehow omits the fourth score--my score--is another oddity.)
I've been opposed to the idea of RT vs. AT in the past, but these days I'm not so sure. True, all things being equal, arranged teams will have an advantage over random teams; but I wonder B.net's modified-Elo system might be able to compensate for the discrepancy when forming matches.
