Except the difference is that they "removed" the scourge.

Do you know the difference between redesigning a unit and removing it...?

How can you be shure? Just look at the broodlord, i't essentially a redesign of the guardian.
This does not help your position. The Brood Lord is a Guardian. It morphs from Mutalisks, just like Guardians. It requires a Greater Spire, just like Guardians. The Greater Spire requires a Hive, just like Guardians.

If Blizzard wants to put Scourge back in, they will put Scourge back in, just like they wanted a Guardian, and we have a Guardian (regardless of what it's called).

But I think it is unlikely for them to want to put the scourge back in. Weren't we just discussing that in a couple of other threads?

Except as Corruptor pets. Then they may have potential.

You mean spawning from corrupted units? Yeah that could be interesting.

Mhm. The main argument for it was that because the Scourge (even with different stats; even temporary) can move, it would create a huge incentive for the opposing player to stay and destroy the corrupted units before the Zerg gains a sizable advantage... as opposed to running off for a while from the stationary turrets.

I think it would be awesome of the swarm guar... I mean brood lord spawned scourges when it was killed, just like overlords did in SC during its alpha/beta (forget which one)

then the brood lord could be deadlier... dont let enemy air get too close to it in fear of it dying. Ultimate weapon!!!

I once suggested making an air evolution of the Zergling (attaches itself to air units and does periodic damage, can't be hit by the unit to which it's attached), but this idea seems a bit far-fetched. If we really want Scourges back I see no problems with them being produced by the Brood Lord (kind of like an air Reaver, but with only like 4 slots for Scourgettes, a longer production time, and a bit more expensive).
