    Cooler unboxing

remember I am neither from England or Scotland but from Poland

    System spec:
    i7-860 @ 3.7GHz
    Gigabyte P55-UD5
Sapphire HD 4870 1GB second box version
    Corsair XMS3@1740MHz
    OCZ Mod Xtreme
HDD Samsung SATA: 2x160GB RAID 1
    640GB for storage
    Asus Xonar DX 7.1

Cooler Master HAF 932 with 10 fans on the case (4x120mm
blue on the left, 1x120mm blue at the bottom, 1x120mm blue and a 230mm at the top, 1x230mm red front fan, 1x140mm at the back and 1x90mm interior for HDD
I already started the OC'ing process
at first I started with 3.99GHz, but it didn't work out I gave it probably too much Voltage
so I started with lower clocks: 3.69GHz and core voltage at 1.34V in BIOS, it's funny how in CPU-Z I get 1.312 but hey I also got lowered core voltage in the previous system when I ran CPU-z (q6600 @ 3.2GHz, P5n-d,, 6GB DDR2 800mhz, Chieftec 600W, Cooler Maser CM690)

super Pi 1m ran in 11 sec! that is very good score and I know that I can achive under 10 sec score
very good temps and very stable system
    Hidden Content:

    memory is set to 1740MHz

I had few failed boot starts with higher CPU clocks so I'm going to talk with a specialist
even though I had set the core clock 4.12 GHz which is the local (100km radius) record, it wasn't stable at all, I didn't have a sneak peak on the temps as I forgot to run it and during 3dmark I got a blue screen
I love how the motherboard looks and I love how my new system looks
check this thread later as I will try to reach 4GHz stable
I love how the Noctua cooler is the most noisy thing in my RIG and by that it's really really quiet, no noise issue and temp issue inside

    some pictures:

sorry for the crappy mainboard pictures but the reflection from the cooper cooling of the motherboard would look alot worst

for now everything is HDD and GPU limited (I am using the old 4870)
with the 5870 shippment I will get alot better results, but even now I can see the increase of FPS
    first test results

Battlefield BC2 1920x1200 forced by CCC: AFx4, AAx4, Adaptive AA - quality set, high

    min 22, max 55, avg 39.086

    Dawn of War 2
with the latest patch decreasing optimization for everyone (dunno why) the game was for me unplayable at ultra settings, before the patch it was ok, now with the new system it's alot better
    1920x1200
Ultra, AAx2 Adaptive AA - quality set
    average, maximum, minimum
    Hidden Content:

High, AAx2 Adaptive AA - quality set 1920x1200
    Hidden Content:

    Left 4 Dead 2 1920x1200
all maxed out, Adaptive AA - quality set, in-game 4xMSAA, 8AF
as always min, max, average FPS
    85, 301, 138.645

    changed to 8xMSAA and 16AF
    84, 269, 125.512

forced to edge-detect by CCC ATI to 24x AA samples
    74, 188, 115.417

    Dead Space
forced to edge-detect by CCC ATI to 24xAA samples, Adaptive AA - quality set, everything maxed out, 1920x1200

nice Gaming rig you got there outpaces mine quite easily havent bought a totally new one in a few years now.

and that processor of yours is amazing mine is a relic compared with its puny 2,6 ghz

the colors scheme on the main card is fascinating tho i prefer black and strong colors but the assembled look is good.

and as far as i can see i think you forgot to tell how much memory you got in gigabytes in the memory stacks
The INFERNALelf is coming for ya

    no prisoners will be taken.

    char code 330

Well after my 2nd last computer I built having 1 stick of bad memory and costing me $400 in extra parts trying to work out the faults, and spilling coke all over the motherboard of my last one I build, I decided to just buy this one from dell :P

Pic is for another forum cause I had a memory problem.

    i7 920
    6GB ramz
GFX is 4850 (i've actually got 2 but the MB doesn't support xfire) Will probably upgrade just as SC2 comes out but right now it handles max details on the beta easily
Bluray player dvd/cd burner etc etc
2 screens, 21" dell at 1920x1080 and 40" samsung tv also at 1920x1080. Main reason for the two monitors is for poker

I've also got 4 HDDs with the smallest being 300gb but they're kinda old. Nothing else worth mentioning I don't think.

yeah, I am changing it right now

btw Maul, check your memory config as you might have reduced memory capacity or 3GB or 4GB, even if your system sees those 6GB

go system and security> system> advanced settings> advanced tab> performance settings> advanced and you have memory config

or just press ctrl+alt+del> start task manager> performance tab> click on the resource monitor> check how much hardware reserved memory you have

    AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000 3.033GHz
System memory 2GB not sure of the brand
    NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 1777MB
HD 232 GB and external HD 298GB from seagate

I need another external HD. My 2 HD are already full. Also need more RAM.
