Day9 daily is sooo gooood. He does more than commentate on games, he breaks down what you should be thinking at every point of the game. Check out a few of his past SC2 commentaries, around the 80's, and you can pick up a lot of good techniques and builds.

I'm gold in 1v1, platinum in 2v2 RT.

When to attack and expand are things that depend a lot on playstyle as well as scouting. I like to attack fairly early, but I usually don't try to end the game right at once. If you do attack early, don't be afraid to pull your units back, because if you attack and lose everything that's probably the end right there.

I think the easiest way to get better is learning how to multitask. Try not to be controlling your units so much that when you do get back to your base, you have over 2000 minerals and gas sitting around unspent. The best way to be able to push an advantage is to have an army able to come and reinforce your army. Try to learn to take a few seconds to queue up units at your base just before you go into battle.

One piece of advice that always stuck with me was always try to keep your mineral count as close to 0 as possible, and if you aren't producing enough, then it's time to expand.

The 80s? Like 1980s? As in SC1? Which one is particularly informative?

The number 80. Day9 numbers his videos, so look in the 80's.

I am top 20 in Platinum 1v1 (div 8), #8 in Platinum 2v2 with my teammate and #1 in Random team Platinum div 4.

build orders are VERY important, doing a proper/smooth build order can almost increase your win percentage 50%. Just knowing what to do and not stumbling around and missing supply depots and etc. Makes everything much easier. For example, yesterday I only played afew toss games, so I was pretty bad with them, losing because I was missing pylons and such, but I played ~20 toss games last night and now my builds are super smooth and Im on a very high win streak, i went like 15-5.

Just analyze every loss you get, watch the replay and see why you lost, and what you can do to fix that next time. Treat every loss like a learning experience.

Errr SC was released in 1998 so the 1980s didn't have any SC commentaries
