Protoss Airforce needs huge remodelling

I think the void ray looks the worst because they took the original model and just tinted it grey, instead of actually recoloring it. I can almost guarentee its not final. I also dont get why it has to be grey. The Corsair was a Dark Templar ship, and that wasnt grey.

Another thing I dont like about the void ray and the carrier is the texturing. The lines look blury, and dont look like actual indents in the metal, but instead look sorta painted on.

Phoenix and mothership look fine to me now. The phoenix has improved since the announcement, they reduced the team color and added a little detail.

The Mothership also looks majestic and shiny, which is protossy. Not liking it at this point would just be a matter of opinion to me.

Another thing I noticed is the color contrast looks sorta off on all the units, they look very bland. I am either gonna blame that on the picture itself, or say its not final.

Carrier and Void Ray could use some vampups.

Mothership is alright. Phoenix is a smaller air unit, the detail should be fairly appropriate for its size. Carrier and Void Ray are larger ships and should definately have more detail though.

personally I feel the Carrier and Void Ray look a bit too gangly, like they'[ve been made out of pipe-cleaners and splinters of glass, rather than out of metal. The other two look pretty okay, except for those islands floating around the MShip, and the spikes on the wings and engines of the Phoenix.

I don't see it, and in game, you won't either, units aren't that zoomed in usually.

Terran units only look better angular, because they are angular, if terran units were smooth like the protoss' they'd look the same (in your eyes).

The problem I see here really is that it's hard to make the clean style of the protoss fit in with the terran's gritty style and the zerg's organic style (terran and zerg have more in common aesthetically)

I'm glad to see that the polish phases aren't over, however, I don't think this is a bad as people think..

GeeGee, you have missed the point of my post entirely. Terran are supposed to look worst since they are the most aesthetically displeasing race (well I'd have to say Zerg but Zerg has that natural feeling to it)

I disagree. Zerg are supposed to be gross and slimy. Terran textures should be worn-out metal with a bit of luster, which they don't really seem to be at the moment.

The new carrier looks 1000x better than the banana-like carrier that was in SC:BW.

On the other hand, the new BC looks like a toy in comparison to the vicious, metallic hammer-head resemblance of the BC in SC:BW.

Again, just my opinion. We might have to agree to disagree.

I disagree with this, it looks like a christmas ornament, not like a combat vessel.

Agreed, this thing looks more like a kids toy than a serious military vessel.

I agree, they need some work. The blue parts on the Protoss ships look like cheap neon-tube stuff. The Carrier model is ugly, IMO, and it doesn't look like the old Carrier at all. Is this an improved ship, or a completely new one??

The Phoenix looks too much like an human ship, it could look more alien, like on the side view of it's artwork.

My guess is that these are placeholder mockup models, not finished products, and will go through a massive revamp as the Zerg models have.

If you compare the quality of the Carrior, Void Ray and Phoenix models to the previous Zerg models, you can see they'd be fairly similar in its basic textures and lack of correct spec maps.

I'm pretty sure there will be newer model updates made, these aren't final at all.

If i read correctly he is talking more about polygon count then general aestetics.
