To not look like the behind of a Viking Fighter glued to the front of a Banshee would be a good start, in my opinion.

Had the Viking and Banshee never existed in the SC universe, I would actually love the design. It would be a good representation of the Dominion's attempt to replicate UED technology, the end result being a wild slap-together job of a frigate that's not nearly as pretty as it is lethal. Unfortunately, both the Viking and the Banshee do exist, and so that wireframe represents a laziness on the part of the Dominion's engineers and on the part of Blizzard's artists. I mean, it's one thing to make something look a bit too closely in likeness with another thing, but to literally take one half from each of two units that exist in the universe and then use them to create another unit of an entirely different function without any sort of editing whatsoever is just distasteful and weak. I mean ffs they could at least put in a minimal amount of effort and move a few polygons around or something. Preferably they should create something new entirely.

I just wonder how a mobile platform designed to launch dozens of rockets from a distance against incoming zerg flyers is "unwieldy" and ineffective?...
Aaand sold.
Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow
Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?
The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

That's the explanation behind the advent of the Viking. Valkyries just weren't effective enough, apparently. Which is totally nuts. Why not have a dedicated anti-air craft like that?
