Default Star Wars - The Old Republic

What are your thoughts on this game thus far? For me i am excited to be visiting the old worlds of the first and second games and seeing what new stuff they have cooked up. Combat looks fluent enough at this point and it really seems as though it is going to be an enjoyable game.

I'm waiting for races info before I commit an opinion.

I got the impression the classes were all there was; I've not seen any indication of multiple races. Of course, given that this is Star Wars, there should be.

I don't like MMOs - they literally give me headaches - but this one has me interested for story-line and BioWare reasons. Unfortunately I don't have the time, money or computer for it.
    Aaand sold.

Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?

Bioware has confirmed multiple races other than human will be playable for your characters. However, there has been no indication of which races or if race choice will affect stats like they do in WoW. We do know, however, that certain races will be limited to certain classes. For example, if Bioware let us play as Wookies, they would not be allowed to be the force-using classes.

Seriously? There were Wookiee jedi knights! That sucks. What was the reasoning behind that?

Force-sensitive Wookies are out-of-canon. Lucas has said there are no force-sensitive Wookies, and thus it shall be. In the same way naming Yoda's species is unpossible.

Lucas owns the rights, he owns the lore. Just how it goes.

But what about Lowbacca? It's strange and annoying how he decides which EU is canon and which isn't.

    Strange yes. Annoying yes.

But there it is. Lowbacca does not exist. Forget about him.

I'll play it if I get into the beta to test it out/watch it fail!

Otherwise prbly not - I'll check out the reviews, though I usally get into every beta ever so im sure i'll have some thoughts on it.

The biggest plus to me so far is that everything is voiced and there doing the bioware story treatment on the quest and such, but the combat looks boring as hell.

    We'll see ;d

The game looks fine to me, by now I give it 4/5

    They can improve...or fail
