Actually, supposedly the reason they eliminated the Drop pods was the problem of selecting Which Ghost Academy the Drop pod comes from... ie I have 3 Ghost academies one is full of marines one full of reapers one full of Marauders.

To do a Drop pod I must
1. select a group with a ghost
2. select 'Drop pod'
3. select a spot to drop the pod on
4. select which pod to drop (something that is on the other side of the screen)
