Yeah, I think the Queen and Nexus macro mechanics are actually really tolerable once you figure out these little short-cuts with hotkeys and things.

Lol, I love how we've officially settled into a groove where SC2 mechanics are found "tolerable" and that's somehow enough.

Tolerable for me anyway. I'm sure some people enjoy them.

Well, of the two of us, you're the one who likes the Queen. If ever there was someone who'd "enjoy" them...

... tis not like we're gonna get to try the game without the mechanics, so its hard to judge. but regardless, its still more fun / straightforward & intuitive to play that sc/bw IMO, adn this is still beta.

arguably we're close to somethign that makes everyone "happy" in taht although we are able to steamline our use of these mechanics, top-notch players will be able to utilize them with greater timing and precision as part of their mastering of the game.

i should make clear that i still suspect the macro mechanics are largely abundant with concerns to their purpose, considering how fast the game plays. but as mentioned, we're not getting to try out the alternative 'till someone makes a custom game like that. (and then, that'll probably be disbalanced & be inconsistent with the metagame we'll know from melee play)

btw, has anyone tried playing custom games on slower speeds? i know youre able to, but i havnt palyed on anyhting slower than "fast".. might be cool for a change?
I am an enthusiast of good strategy games, sc2Esports and rollplay, although i dont really play anything atm.

Why hasn't Archer posted here yet?

I think you should be able to assign a Queen to a specific Hatchery. Right clicking on spawn larvae would ask you to assign the queen to a hatchery. Now whenever you select spawn larvae the queen will automatically use the ability on the hatchery that you have it assigned to. To disable this simply right click on spawn larvae again.

A second improvement could be by allowing you to use the ability (and other similar abilities like chrono boost) through the control group interface. Instead of clicking on the unit on the main screen you should be able to click on their control group. If there's only one unit in the control group it should work.
    Oh, I see......

......this post must have caused a fatal heart attack.

I have no freaking clue what you're trying to imply with this sentence... -_-

Its theoretically justified because ZvZ zergling rush sometimes gets two hatcheries, with one queen.

    lol, I know, stupid.

Im sorry, but isn't the point of macro mecanics like the queen to be something u have to manualy do. That forces you to go look at your base for a second and take the time on these abilities to equilibrate the new mbs/infinite size groups that SC2 comes with?

If so, why not give the hatcheries 2 larvas per tick, give the orbital command a +1 mineral buff on every scvs and a constant boost on rallypointed building?

COMON. If you do the APM it takes to play hard on SC, you wouldn't even ask these things.

Kind of what I thought Bisso. I'm not in the beta so I don't have an opinion based on experience but since you can set up so much more to be done automatically in this game than you could in the original it seems that they had to leave some stuff up to you as the person deciding on what to do. I just wish there was more tension on the queen rather than just using spawn larva every time it's cooldown is ready.
