That's the true Protoss spirit. Protoss forces aren't under attack, they engage the enemy

Still, that can have a negative impact. In SC1, when your hear "Our Wa..." you already know what he's going to say. Reaction is very fast. If there are a gazillion different unit quotes for "unit under attack", that can take longer.

I like the idea of - when your units are outnumbered after a big battle (a group of units shrink in a short time) they give you a notice that your army cannot last. They just need to script it correctly. There should be an initial notice of the attack, followed by an update. A feature I would welcome if they can script it correctly.

Adjutant: "Your warriors are engaging the enemy"
    Zealot: "We cannot hold!"
    Stalker: "Back into the Shadows!"
Adjutant: "Your army is getting assraped. Your micro sucks. I hate you."

Yeah, and what about the old zealot sound? when he is slicing with the blades-that exact sound along with the charging and release of the old yamato cannon are my favorite

Lets keep all this in perspective.

Imagine being the most powerful race with the toughest warriors of the Sector.

Then, in a couple of months, 1/2 and heck more of your race gets raped by weaklings that mass at the billions and keep breeding.

I dont know...would you get scared? Or at least unnerved?

Carrier: Our enemies are legions...and you still procrastinate?

    (procrastination: Great War)

    SC2 Carrier: Told ya.

Lol, I loved when I clicked a Thor that was going after some foes and he said
"Bring me back into the fight!"
(yep I played the Beta one day thanks to a friend who had it! yeehawk!)
Just wish the ghost said "Never know what hit'em" as response to the Nuke command...

Combat quotes like that are probably programmed when unit is under attack. I think that when beta's done they'll fix the triggers causing units to only sat "We cannot hold!" when severely outnumbered/damaged.
    I hope so...

Yeah, I loved it... it was great 12 years ago (*nostalgic sigh*)

What? And all those threads complaining about the effects... well maybe the voices are final but I hope the effects are way better for release... Dark templars are pussies compared to SC1 Dark Templar's voice effects.

    Just compare the old
    "N'heraz gulio", "N'er mah "
    with
    "Fear is an illusion"
heck, make it at least remind old Dark Templars!

I really don't know why they wont work more on unit sounds/lines. They are THAT proud of their work???

Heck, i though beta is about suggestions and feedback...

Most people say that SC1 unit voices are much better, and they don't give a shit about it.

    Fucking lame.

Protoss units in particular make me literally laugh out loud . They all sound so helpless:

"We cannot hold!" "Fall back to the shadows!" "We are in peril!"

It's as if they talk a good fight, but are actually all really cowardly . It's especially funny because they all sound so badass just prior to engaging the enemy .

I'd love to hear 'victory lines' return. Units cheering after winning a battle, like the way Immortals used to say: "The enemy has broken." Or something like that. :]
