Blizzard already said that that the current unit VO in the game is final and that they may only go back and tweak the Zerg announcer.

Yes I want to know if my unit is attacked. That's sound gameplay.
However I also agree with the notion that the actual quotes are completely out of proportion. The first time I heard "We cannot hold" in a replay I thought it was awesome but then I realized that they do this even if attacked by, yeah, one zergling vs your gigantic zealot/colossus army...
seriously you can laugh at Wankey if you want but I think a lot of people are going to react this way. Protoss zealots should not be whiney. Is it a serious issue with the game? Hell no. Is it going to get fixed? Almost certainly not.

I think it would be pretty cool if the quotes were dependent on a) who got hit first and b) which races are involved. For instance, if a zerg force sneaked up on your protoss army and ambushed them, your protoss forces should say something along the lines of, "The swarms fall upon us!" while the opponent's zerg forces should say, "We have engaged the hated ones!"

I suppose they are a little odd, particularly when you consider that SC1 had more generic messages (e.g. "our forces are under attack") which seem a little more appropriate to begin with. At the same time, it's definitely nice to have unit-specific messages; variety is good.
