I bought and read the comic. I wasn't very taken by it. The characters are flat and the linework poor. The only somewhat interesting characters are Turfa and Nuura. And Bruce Willis, of course.

For those who have read the comic already, what units does Cerberus rely on? Is it like in Loomings where they use Firebats, Marines and Goliaths? Are they augmented or special in some way? How are they taken out?
Oh, and what about that ship the War Pigs are using? Is it a Battlecruiser or something new?
I've placed an order for the comic, but God only knows when (or even if) it will get here.

Cerberus uses something that look like light infantry or marines, as well as goliaths. I didn't see any firebats. They are resocialized and special forces. (They're badass normals, so they don't have cybergear or supertech or anything like that.) If you want to know how they were taken out, I suggest reading the comic (or a fansite with a spoiler summary).
The General Lee has been confirmed to be a Wanderer-class rather than a light cruiser. It's not that big and doesn't have many weapons. It has a crew of five, so you shouldn't expect much from it
There's a bunch of new info in an interview: http://www.blizzplanet.com/blog/comm...man_interview/
Among other things, they mentioned a character will cameo in issue 4 and be a main character in arc #2 (apparently as a new War Pig). Said character will be extremely important to the universe.

It looks like Tychus Findlay to me, but I'll let you judge for yourself. If that's him, it could explain why he's not sitting in a cyronic prison cell somewhere.

Well, reading the comic is on the agenda, like I said I placed an order roughly when it was released. But I'm not too certain it'll arrive any time soon or... ever, given where I live.
But if you know of any fansite summaries, I'd love a link. All I can really find is one or two sites like this that doesn't go all that deep.

The Cerberus infantry vaguely resemble men in Iron Man suits. It would be pretty neat to have them in campaign editor for SC2.
