Right now I'm 58/47, 1st in my Copper league.
I just went up against an opponent who was Favored (and beat him to a pulp). As usual against Favoreds, I friended him after and checked out his ladder. He is 84/84, 1st in his Copper league.
However it is they calculate it, here's undeniable proof that win/loss ratio isn't the only thing that's taken into account.
What really puzzles me is that he wasn't "Slightly" Favored. That would have at least made some sort of sense: maybe it's that he has more games behind his back, or that his highest rank might be higher than mine (though if so they have to be close; all I know is his was Bronze, and mine was Bronze #8). But no, the game decided that he was the clear favorite to take the match.
Why in the world does Blizzard not release the information that goes into deciding who's the favorite to win a match? That would help so much figure out if this was a bug or working as intended... as it is, I have absolutely no idea.
