Zerg building without creep ?

thats cool, now you can swoop in, kill the hatch, do an x-ray for tumors, do surgery and head out - letting the vital organs of the zerg hive-cluster bleed to death as the creep crumbles...

It´s just as viable as sniping Protoss Pylons or hit-and-run against Terrans untill their Buildings are in the Red.
It´s less a crippling Zergweakness but more a precaution against Creepdrop->Techbuilding->stop Creepdrop. Zerg benefit from hidden Tech the most, it´s just fair that Creep gives them away.

Todie, it was worded well enough to make some of us think about whether and how much you meant it. Nice job with the subtlety.

My strat has always been to strike Zerg workers/hatches first in SC1 and limit productivity/economy, then take out the special structures at my leisure. With the Queen's spawn Larvae and the seemingly higher likelihood of expos, this is harder to make work. I will need to work on this when SC2 WOL finally releases.

If your able to swoop in and kill their main hatchery with tech buildings around it (meaning its mid-lategame) than the enemy has already lost no need to snipe a hatchery.

Depends on how good the players involved are. Certainly a superior Zerg player would have likely accomplished this. However, an opponent suitable to or beyond the Zerg player's skill level can rinse an repeat until there are no resources left in the Zerg coffers, provided of course his/her own don't run out first.

I don't think that's a viable strategy.

Hatcheries don't go down quickly. The player has time to respond.
Even if the base is undefended, and you pull off the strategy,
Queens/Overlords/Worms can also spawn creep.

It would be more efficient to go after drones.
Or maybe I'm wrong. Any thoughts?

Unless you also killed the nearby creep production buildings, the creep would come back in 30 seconds. The Zerg buildings would suffer, what, 100 damage tops?

And if you killed the creep construction buildings, then the creep would disappear anyway.

It might be a "nice touch," but it wouldn't affect the gameplay either way.
