What's the point of having 5k dpi?
I don't think I'll ever get a better mouse than my razer salmosa asian edition.

The dpi thing is an option. What I've found is absolutely sweet for FPS is when I get a sniper rifle I can change the DPI on the fly to enable better aiming. It's really great. You can also change the dpi for horizontal and vertical so you track faster from side to side or up and down.

I'll toss my hat into the ring as (probably) the only Trackball user around here. Been using them for...dang, since I started doing computers seriously again in 2000/2001. I actually find it extremely difficult to go back to mice.
I was using a nice Microsoft one until mine broke and they discontinued it, so now I'm using a Logitech one. I really preferred the M$ one, though, for once a nice piece of M$ hardware that did what it was supposed to do.

I use some logitech wireless mouse, but its worn out since sometimes I need to left click twice. Nothing fancy, it has two buttons and a roller in the middle. Wish I could replace it with an exact replica...cept I think they phased it out.

Sure being able to change dpi on the fly is great. But many mouse designers started a dpi race just like camera makers made useless cameras with ridiculously high pixels.
I find that often times high dpi (or MP for cameras) is just bait for the amateur who thinks he'll play better (take better pictures) because his item has high dpi (MP). Besides, anyone who plays at 5k dpi will probably have precision issues...

Scientists measure a second as the duration of 9,192,631,770 periods
of the radiation corresponding to the transition between the two hyperfine
levels of the ground state of the caesium 133 atom.
Or the duration of 9,192,631,770 matches where David Kim crushes you head to head in StarCraft 2

I understand exactly what you're saying Hammy but I play on medium DPI almost all the time but I have it set up for FPS so that when I hit the scope/zoom button it decreases my DPI to 1100 to enable better aiming while zoomed in. I've never been under the impression that more/faster/bigger is automatically better. That being said more options are always good.
