    of cource it's NOT strong because have you ever seen anybody use them in tank mode and win a battle??? To do that you probably have to have atleast 3 times more resources then your enemy....Tanks cost solid amount of res,and a lot of time,So they can be used only in small numbers,in those small numbers let's say 3-4 in battle are ALWAYS used in siege mode....That's my point,they are suppose to be EQUALLY usefull in both purposes ! You play Zerg right? Well tell me if you advance with your hydras and roaches and how does the enemy player uses the tanks during the main battle in tank mode or siege mode ??? I guess we both now the answer....

    you can't really use the factory for anything besides tanks
    Why do you keep saying that? Have you ever seen Hellions eat Zerglings and Hydralisks? Ever seen a Thor drop wipe out someone's main building?

    You most certainly can use Factories for something besides tanks.

    Sure me too ,againts people who play worse than noobies,i have complete control over the map....+ marauder force- 2 times larger then all his zerglings/hydras/roaches combined...Just admit it ...Tanks in Tank mode are much worse in almost every situation then sieged ones...and you didn't answer my question if your enemy uses them sieged or unsieged vs your mass hydras/roaches??

    I used them in a reasonable game. I hellion harassed and switched tech to tanks and then mixed them in with marine/medivac.

    SO aren't. Against stalkers, against immortals, against Roaches, against anything armored that isn't a base defense, tank-mode tanks deal superior DPS.

    None of my ZvT games have gone beyond tier 1. But uh... anyway, Siege Tanks wouldn't do very well against Hydralisks unsieged (they're light). Against Roaches they'd be good, though.

    In BW TvP and TvT was all about the damn Tanks.

    I'm happy they're much less likely to be massed now, so they can use them when it makes sense, and also have lots of units to choose from, instead of being so limited like they were.

    Units should be used in mixed forces to great effect, not just mass one kind of unit.

    tank mode tanks are decent, but if you're gonna do that, you might as well get marauders, which are so much cheaper and deal similar damage w/ a tiny bit less hp. plus, they get stim.

    Marauders don't have Siege Mode. Tanks are more versatile.

    i wasnt arguing about that. of course if you're using siege mode, then tanks are better (cost not taken into account). but their regular tank mode is still a joke, and much more in line with the viking's ground mode as far as cost-effectiveness goes.

    Tank mode was used in Pro Brood war when it was much worse. It was used to stop splash on your own tanks and when you wanted to quickly attack without stopping. Now that it is improved it should be used more often.
