Exactly. How do they expect to bring people together without lobbies, LAN, or even being able to game with people from around the world?
I personally think something like this would kill a game aimed at a niche market.

WTF? Um, WoW is a computer game. Monitors don't use NTSC or PAL, and no computer game would be able to tell the difference even if you plugged your computer into a TV.EU version of WoW is PAL whereas NA is NTSC
