Blizzard won't do it. But the community will definitely release mods that will add the campaigns.![]()

I really don't understand why mods would be needed when the campaign map editor would do it justice.

I'm guessing within a week or two after release there will be custom maps allowing you to play the original SC in the new engine

It'd probably take more than two weeks to write huge campaigns like that.
Also, for people looking to play StarCraft I in 3D, they'd be disappointed. The new UI is quite different. There are different micro-tricks now (and some of the old ones can't be replicated) for instance.

Do you actually like the missions? I always thought they were pretty boring (after the first playthrough). The story is what we all love so I don't see what doing this would accomplish. Unless a team really went all out and did cinematics for each briefing and in-game story pieces (Zeratul killing Raszagal, Tassadar tricking Kerrigan, etc.). Someone could also go all out and do all the SC1 cinematics in the new engine. (it would actually look better than the old cinematics do)
That would be the only reason I would play a sc1 campaign released.
Also, there is no telling if Blizzard would shut such a project down or not.

Yeah, I honestly forgot about the great abilities of the new map editor. I'm sure within a couple months of the game release you'll see essentially the Original campaigns available.
