all of the Terrans are decedents of criminals, social deviants, political prisoners, and a few average joes wrongfully imprisoned.
    So Koprulu is essentially Australia?
Heh, no wonder the UED lost.
In France's defense, I hear they put up an extremely bloody resistance during german occupation.
    Aaand sold.

Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow

    Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?

The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

Well, France losing to Germany (at that time one of the strongest nations military-wise) is a little bit different than the United States losing to North Vietnam (guerilla-fighters with straw-hats and a book of Marx without gum-gum-devil fruits).

The UED was defeated by a coalition of Zerg, the native Koprulu Terran government and Terran rebels with their Protoss allies.

Alone, outnumbered and in the end outsmarted.

Haha, I wonder if their selection of a french admiral was meant to be foreshadowing.

Hmm i don't get why do you think the US lost in Vietnam or the Soviets lost in Afganistan??? Considering tacticaly the US lost 10 times less troops than the Commies? And the Russians lost even fewer than 10:1 ratio againts the Afgans,They occupied the whole country in 3 weeks,Killed nearly 2 million civialians,And do you know why both countries retreated??? Because of both home and international pressure ,because it was wrong to intervene...Well who has the power can do whatever he wants right??? They cannot loose a war period, simply the scale of their 'war machines' is more immense then you imagine,They simply are stopped by human stubborness and self understanding of what is right...

The UED considered mainly on Koprulu production rather than Earth technology that's why they lost,(The Lore in SC is a huge mess) Even if they had 'ATLAS' AI they couldn't advance as much as a galactic power which is the UED, I mean they were 26,000 prisoners with nothing available except a 'generation ship' if you call it scattered on 3 separate planets...That Expedition fleet has supposed to have 3 objectives
    1. Conquer all rogue Terran colonies
    2.Capture the Overmind
3.Pacify any Protoss in the sector using the pet Zerg...

That's to make the story more colorfull,I mean why didn't the Terrans just build monster nukes and bombard each planet infested with Zerg??? Why didn't the Protoss 'purify' Char??? Why? Why? Cuz Starcraft will end There are so many things from Lore that contradict with it's previous sayings that is just annoying and even absurd....

    A. Large scale nukes were banned by the Confederacy. We don't know if the Dominion will or has repealed said ban.

    B. Most of the planets infested were their own. They can't just nuke every single world, it would cause too much political upheaval. Maybe Arcturus wants more control of his empire before he starts doing that.

    A. Idiot Conclave.

    B. Weak status in BW.

    C. Now, they are needed for the protection of each Protoss tribe. The Protoss are fragmented in SC2.

Hmm great logic ! They face total extinction and will hold on to some ridiclious bans...Face it if its a Lore based on a GAME it doesn't always make sense...

You do have proof that they had said nukes and were capable of producing them en mass. Also, when were they near extinction? When? There are humans on earth. Even if the Korpula Terrans were exterminated, they would not become extinct due to the UED.

Confederacy,Dominon....??? How exacly does they care about Earth or the opposite? They live their lives 36 000 LY away and some of them don't even remember where they come from or why they get here in the first place,It's like you are living on a island isolated in the Pacific the world doesn't even care you are there and a terrible plague or disease comes and all of your people die what does that mean? Maybe not extinction probably annilhilation, same thing...And the whole ban on nukes in the Lore was to shift the game from other strategies with superweapons(RA2,Generals etc...) I mean today we have ICBMs i can't imagine what they will have 500 years from now....And how come they produce 'warp drives' but they can't produce nukes on mass??? Here in the 21st century using only a fraction of all the avaible materials on Earth to make Nukes we have build tonnage to end life on the Planet dozens of times?? Imagine what can you do with 15 planets with 500 years of advancements in science???
