Default Adrenal Glands upgrade weaker in SC2?

    http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/view...opic_id=114378

I'm going to go test this, but it sounds terrible!

It's so rare that I get to tier 3 in my games that I actually never noticed if Adrenal Glands was lousy or not.

On a slightly related note - how fast are Hydras in SC2? They move so slowly. At a glance, they seem to move faster than unupgraded SC1 Hydras, but that could just be because of the superior pathfinding AI. In actuality, I suspect they are just as fast as unupgraded SC1 Hydras.

It's supposed to keep the Zergling usefull at late game. Probably it needs to make a bigger difference. But maybe they made it weaker because the Zerglings can surround units faster now.

I tried rushing to cracklings, so I only produced zerglings to quick Hive-tech. And was horrified with the results. They died fast and didn't hit hard at all. I can vouch for this. My poor cracklings are suffering from withdrawal.

Also Hydras are painfully slow in comparison to their SC1 counterparts since they lack the speed upgrade. However they move as fast as upgraded Roaches by default, which keeps the two in a pack together nicely.

On a completely unrelated note, I just played a game where I noticed my opponent teching to mutas (he had spine crawlers and no roach warren), so I put up spore crawlers and got hydras myself. Then I got accused of map-hacking. Pfft. His direct quote being "Guess teamliquid was right, maphack already out".

Some people just can't take a loss! But I did notice in that game that Hydras won't be able to keep up with Mutas at all, however base defences seem to work much better against them this time around.

I know that . When I say that "it sounds terrible", I was voicing my shock at the reduced power of this upgrade, since I know how much butt it kicks in Brood War .

Cracklings are the Devil. Bad memories.

I still haven't even used adrenal glands in 100+ games as Zerg, but this news makes me very sad
Cracklings were so fantastic in SC1... You've gotta love razing a terran who went wraith/BC with nothing but GtG units...

    Terran went wraith/ BC? :O

I suppose you just don't see that when playing B in Icup. It sounds more fun.

Nah that was way before Iccup, in an old BGH FFA game : )
    Yup, some are pretty oldschool!

Do you still play Iccup at a B level? That's pretty good, got an aka to share? : ) I'd love a game or two.
