It's as slow as it's ever been in this beta. It just accelerates slower (i.e. it now takes a few seconds to reach it's maximum speed), and when it arrives at it's target it decelerates for a little bit (i.e. Takes a few seconds to stop before it can start attacking/casting spells).
It just means you can't micro around something in circles. I.e. "Mothership harass". Honestly, I think this is a good change. Lowers her ability as a single-combat unit but not her overall ability as a unit that's part of your army. It just makes her a bit more vulnerable if she's on her own.

The mothership as whole is slower moving, period. You can play semantics with max speed, speed of movement, or accelaration isnt speed, etc... but I think aldrius isnt looking at the units movement ability as a whole, rather is splitting "speed" into accelaration, decelaration and max speed.
As a whole, the unit is slower. Unless someone said "the max speed is slower", I think these semantic arguments really need to stop...
Also, I do want to add..
If a unit has to go from point A to point B, it's accelaration and decelaration time will have an impact on that speed between the two points. It may be a small impact, but it will be slower.

I wonder what the numbers mean:
What are the units?# The acceleration of this unit has decreased from 1.3125 to 0.3125.
# The deceleration of this unit has increased from 0 to 1.

Right. So you can't do Carrier micro like before. I'm pretty sure that's half the point.(like when doing Carrier micro).
The other reason for decreasing the acceleration is so that it can't get away as easily from stronger counters like Corruptors. It's speed is good enough to make Corruptors (which don't have good acceleration themselves) do a lot of starting and stopping. Now, the Mothership takes a while longer to get up to full running speed, thus making it more difficult for it to escape.

It's a negligible impact. That's my point. The Mothership's effectiveness as a SUPPORT unit will not be affected. It's just no longer going to be able to bob and weave around enemy forces and enemy bases like a freaking mutalisk or phoenix. At least not without making it extremely vulnerable.

Do you really think a "mothership" should be able to weave around enemy forces like a mutalisk or phoenix? You do realize that a mothership is suppose to be extremely large compared to either of those units, and the bigger they are the more difficult to manuever?
It would be strange to try and explain why a mothership can move as well as a mutalisk.
