Thread: Terran Builds

    I was honestly surprised.
Why is that surprising? Hydralisks are light and come in packs. The exact kind of unit Hellions are designed to kill. They even have a special upgrade to make them kill them better.

Hydras attack so fast and do so much damage that I thought that this'd be an easy fight, especially since our test didn't involve micro so the Hellions didn't even get up close where their splash can make more of a difference.
Now imagine what happens when you have a human behind them. I had about 20 Hydralisks and they just melted in seconds before these guys.

Hellions in small numbers, like 4-5, aren't that good. But if you can get a good number like 10 of them, they can get some serious critical mass going. In large numbers, and terrain for a good surround, they can probably take on units like Stalkers or even Roaches.

I state why I'm surprised in the very next paragraph which you even quoted! It was because Hydras do such good damage (they don't need a pansy damage bonus to do 12 damage to everything) and attack so fast that I thought they'd still win in spite of the Hellions' damage bonus.

I am quite surprised that no one ever mentioned Banelings. No one is even building them... Why is that? I know that they are good only against light units and Buildings but still. Watching David Kim, he was building them in almost every Zerg game.

I think he did that to be just a little showy, to be honest . I haven't seen that many David Kim games, but in the ones I did see him building Banelings in, he was already so far ahead that he could have built anything and still won .

Banelings are amazing, they destroy marines pretty handly - alot of people forget about them and just make roaches and hydras lol In my case I usually forget about them and just mass hydras the entire game - but they are very very good units

They do to a certain point. Without a pretty large number of Hellions, Hydralisks beat them pretty handily.

But the Hellion is REALLY cheap and it can take advantage of a reactor. So if you're not bothering to build tanks or thors, you might as well add a reactor to that factory you built for medivacs and start pumping out a few Hellions.
