I have a question about bunkers - has anyone used, 'Salvage' to their advantage?

I was forced to make a bunker once near my cc to defend against an early reaper attack. I salvaged it later when I didn't need it anymore.
Didn't really make much of a difference, to be honest.

Hmm...yeah, I was imagining all kinds of crazy bunker/turret pushes based on salvage - and also have not seen, 'Phase Shift' once

People before beta made a huge deal about salvage, and indeed, it is a good ability.
But 100 minerals isn't a big difference as I suspected.

Also, Salvage was completely nerfed. It only works on Bunkers now; you can't salvage Missile Turrets or Sensor Towers.

Well reapers deal bonus vs light so i guess they can be better sometimes in bunkers,especially vs zealots and zerglings...

It was. About 6 months ago, they made it an E-Bay upgrade. Also, +2 building armor.I thought such an upgrade was single-player only? The Neo-Steel frame?
