    Agreed they can take out a lot of vikings even. They work great with the mothership which is about the same speed and can cloak them for an unpreparedopponent.

    battlecruisers rock as well.
    I was doing a 2v2 with Demosquid and we got our asses handed to us. However, I was able to build about 6 battlecruisers and they were able to take out 2 enemy bases and hold off another 15 minutes (Mind you we had no other units at this point.)

    I played a game today...3 carriers vs 6 void rays. Carriers won easily. Not sure if it's supposed to be that way.

    i think not. i mean, interceptors had 6 damage in sc/bw now they're at 5x2 and it shows. esp with supperior upgrades.

    i bet tehy'd still be highly usefull with something like 5+2 vs armored x1 (+1 +1 vs armored on dmg upps)


    ... with concerns to the AtA role, current carirers arnt far from being t phenix and even WR's what sc/bw carriers were to scouts. (and yet, WR's are strong units over all)

    mmm.... lets see.

    Carrier = 350m 250g
    Void Ray = 200m 150g

    3 Carriers = 1050m 750g = about 5 Void Rays.

    That's fairly close cost-wise, but the Void Rays are supposed to be the counter to Carriers.

    Were the Void Rays always shooting at the Carriers? Any shooting at Interceptors would completely screw them. Also, Void Rays keep shooting at full damage if they don't have to move (even if they switch targets), so Void Ray micro probably consists of moving closer to the enemy than their maximum range allows them, and focus-firing the Carriers.

    I'll check again, but I'm pretty sure they were basically just firing at each other the whole time.

    I think it's just that the carrier damage output overwhelmed the VRs before they could do anything about it.

    edit: just watched the replay; it was 5 VRs vs 3 carriers. The VRs managed to take one carrier out (focus fire) before they were wiped out.
