Well, considering how scouting is important in this game, I'm ready to pay 100/100, especialy since the queen is pretty durable.

Actually having a BW mentality when regarding a mid/late-game mech isn't a bad thing. You have to prepare your mid/late-game with care, because if when he comes out with his mech army (and right upgrades etc...) you haven't asserted map domination and can't produce tons of units, you'll be in trouble.
If I were to suggest a unit composition to take him out at tier2, it would be lings/roaches (preferably that got close by staying underground). Mutas and hydras just won't cut it.
However, the key here is that you need to have a huuuge amount of these units, otherwise you'll likely be screwed.
Also, since his army will be slow, use your mobility to your advantage. Basically: put some nydus worms all over and... zerg him.
Naturally, getting T3 for cracklings and improved regen is a good thing, but not the key to this matchup imo.
Here's another tip that doesn't only apply to this situation, but would be greatly beneficial to negate his armor: MAKE UPGRADES
SC2 upgrades are so much faster, and they are amazingly beneficial. As a zerg who intends to make a huge number of units, upgrades will be complete life saver. In this case specifically, the focus is on attack upgrade obviously...
There you go. hope this can help.

BTW, the solution to mid-game vs. Terran is to take away the range advantage of Siege Tanks. That is, Overlord drop on their tank line. Roaches or Hydralisks will do, whichever is appropriate for their tech pattern. Most Terrans will leave their tanks in Siege Mode when not directly in use, so that will leave them vulnerable. If the Terran you're playing doesn't, then Hydralisks will be your goal.
And since Thors don't get their bonus AtA damage vs. Overlords (since they're armored), the drop should go off without a hitch.

Glad to see you warming up to Hydras.
Just in case you're wondering, my TvZ game has changed quite a lot since I started going for Muta harass. Although I haven't played too many games since adopting this Brood War-esque strategy, every time I have done so, it has kept the Terran in his base and made him commit to Marines and Turrets. I haven't seen a Thor or Siege Tank since the time I made this thread.
Nice bit of trivia with the Ollies and Thors, though. The Thor's multiple attacks still sounds kinda worrying, but I'll keep that tactic in mind the next time I find myself in such a situation.I'll add Overlords vs Thors to my list of things to experiment in a test game

GRUNT, were you pro in Age of Empires? My friend yesterday told me that some player named Grunt is pro in that and games a like and that he is Asian. You are from Singapore if I didn't misunderstood anything! So I was just wondering.

Haha, no, I'm not THAT GRUNT. People on the AoE forums I used to visit also asked me the same thing
. I picked this name back when I was a fanboy during War3's development
. Yeah, I feel old ^_^.
That said, I did pretty good in AoE3. At the start, nobody really played Dutch and not many players knew how to stop me turtling in my base with fast banks, not caring if my opponent takes map control, then busting out with Ruyters and Heavy Cannons <3. Although I am a Blizzard fan first and foremost, I have nothing but the utmost respect for the Age series. It's good stuff.

Dutch lamer...
j/k
I'd be excited to see IamGrunt play SC2. I don't know if he'd be "pro" but I'm sure he'd be pretty good. I played AoE3 for a few years, and I also played AoM and AoK for years before that. Good games, though they never had nearly the same following as any of the Blizzard RTS (or the balance). Are the AoE forums you're referring to the Age Sanctuary forums?
Why shouldn't Blizzard just put Lurkers back in (perhaps with some changes so they aren't just tier 3 siege units)?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't Lurkers an important unit in TvZ in Brood War - especially in midgame? Has the role of the Lurker been adequately filled with another unit at tier 2?

Ah, you got my number. I was also GRUNT on those forums, although my AoE3 screenname was 'z00t'
.
I was actually invited to be a moderator on Rise of Legends Heaven, but I had to turn that down because I didn't have the time...at the time :[.
I also played AoM online back in the day :]. AoM and AoE3 were the only games I played online on ESO. I played AoK online, but that was just with friends.

Lurkers were only valuable for their stealth vs. Marines. With units like Marauders and Thors roaming the map, stealth and linear AoE don't mean squat. Tier 2 Lurkers would only help if they had a range advantage on most units; something that could allow them to fire at targets without being shot back.Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't Lurkers an important unit in TvZ in Brood War - especially in midgame? Has the role of the Lurker been adequately filled with another unit at tier 2?
Ravens are lower tech now than vessels were in SC1. They're also slightly gas cheaper too. Stealth alone is not good enough to make traditional Lurkers viable.
