this should mean its also not "frowned upon" by blizzard since they would probably take legal action to remove the DL from such a site if that was the case.

If one can watch replays without an account, Blizzard should release the client themselves.
It's way better to watch a replay, than to download a big video that doesn't looks nearly as good.
It would also be good to check if your computer can handle it.

Anyone have any insight into the additional files we need to view the replays? I got the client and downloaded some replays but it says I need additional files. Sorry if this is a really obvious or stupid question :P

from waht i have heard, you cant actually open the replays from within the client. however, you can open them "with the game" from windows. not sure exactly, but like drag it onto the exe ?

Where is the .exe exactly? I downloaded the client and installed but all I can find is the launcher, which obviously isn't the actual application.

No, you right click on the replay and click on "open with" then browse for the StarCraft2bea.exe (either the desktop or the one in the beta folder)

Some replays are unabailable, because you don't have the maps, but others will be playable.

Yeah, it's not working for me.

I don't see a "starcraft2beta.exe", just a 3 mb file that says "Starcraft II" on it in the Starcraft II Beta folder which says "Blizzard Launcher" in the file description. When I try to open the replay using that, it just goes to a black screen and freezes.

I was able to get one replay to "load" but then it said I didn't have all the necessary files (I'm assuming that means it's a map I don't have?)

So far the only times the beta client doesn't freeze when I open one of the replays is if it says I don't have all the necessary files.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong (if anything).

You haven't messed up with the files right? If you did, reinstal everything back.
