Beta User Count

This is a thread dedicated to user count on beta. I'd like to keep track of the highest total to get some idea of about how many people are playing the beta during this wave or at any period of time. The last I saw it was at 3000. Please take a screenshot of a count higher than the current high count and I'll get it changed.

I think this will help us keep an idea of how big a wave might be in the future and maybe use this data at some point in the future for other things.

See, the problem with this is that the 3000 people aren't the same people playing all day. But yeah I haven't seen over 3000 people on at one time yet though.

Yeah, I wish i could be more accurate with it, but it doesnt say how many new users are on. Blizzard probably could just straight out tell us how many got invited in the first wave, which would totally remove the purpose of this thread.

Let me know if blizzard does do something like that...

I guess the best thing to do is to try to pick the time most people are likely to be playing and get the user count then.

I would say that the first wave was about 5000 - 10000 people.

definately NOT 10k

about 20k have blizzcon invites
of those i think they said majority ARE NOT using them (for SC2)

hence i would say 5000 MAX, but i wont be surprised if its around 3-4k

this wave basically took care of the majority of those with keys, the remaining few are to be taken care of in wave 2, which is also going to start ushering in the opt-ins probably

Every region has different servers I believe so if that's true I'm assuming US.

yeah for the moment every region has specific server

globally there might be 10k people playing

however in the US i would stick with my number

I'm able to find games with people of my skill level at any time of the day or even night. I've gotten into games at 3AM PST.

I don't know how many people it takes to be able to do that, but it's clear that there are a lot of people in the beta. 10,000 is far from an unreasonable number.

you do realize that its probably because those with beta have been playing 24/7?

and 3AM...those with lives probably stayed up late

so no, i dont think they invited 10000 (which is half of blizzcon keys) into beta
especially since not even half of those with keys want the beta and not even all of those got in, supposedly about 90% did
