Raven reproducing HAL from odyssey 2001 "i know i've made some poor decisions lately...but i give you complete insurance that my work will be back to normal"
my grandpa died while playing SC
he taught my father everything about The Game
I myself keep the family tradition by playing SC XII

The guy that wrote the lines for the Battlecruiser should be shot.

Besides that, they just need to change the Raven Portrait and redo the lines for the Hellion and BC at least. It feels like they were trying to hard to make the dialogue seem that the characters are busy responding while fighting enemies at all times, as if they are preoccupied.

They also tried pretty hard not to bring some of the old dialogue back and when they did with the tank and ghost, they always added something extra and unnessecary at the end. Seems a little trendy if anything. I mean honestly, would it kill them to make the Marine and BC sound more identical to the originals in Starcraft?

They made the Raven sound a lot like GLaDOS from portal and HAL at the same time. Haha. The Medivac was by far the best though. Feels most like Starcraft to me.

Thor's new model rocks! well I'd like to see it in action.
About the tank... looks like we're watching the driver and hearing the gunner... the portrait's guy barely seems to move his mouth compared to how loud the voice is. Is it the same voice actor as SC1?
Glad to see Banshee and medivac have female pilots!
and the Raven is just awesome. Funny robotic voice saying things like:
    "Command not recognized"
    "Cannot comply"
"Darn, I appear to have turret's syndrome"
"What have you done for me lately, human"
"Sorry Commander, I'm afraid I can't do that"
    "Authority override in effect"
    "This vessel has assumed control"
    "It has assumed control"
"All your base are belong to us"

Lol yeah... some lines are plain stupid. The ugliest one: "I have an announcement: I'm drunk "
and "whatever that means" "Ah it's happy hour, wonderful". C'mon it's a joke battlecruiser, it doesn't fit. There were funny lines though: "I'm seeing double, shoot them both."

Personally, Once I get the game and start making things with the Galaxy editor, I think I shall bring back the ghost and Battlecruiser old voices for some special units (if possible)
Dont misunderstand, I liked the ghost:
"I think female ghosts have nicer equipment"

To be fair, the 'humorous' quotes in SC1 are (likely to be) self-referential humor on Blizzard's part. Hence, quotes such as Artanis' "This is not Warcraft in space" comment, etc. That's why some of the new lines are mocking takes of classic lines while others are making fun of other aspects of development (female Ghosts having better equipment would be a good example of the latter).

I was surprised that the Raven is robotic, I always assumed the gunner inside would be the one speaking - Anyway I loved the 2001: A Space Odyssey quotes, and of course the Zero Wing one.
Also liked the changing portrait of the different Viking modes.

But a thing that I personally think has got to go, are the marine's corny deathsounds of: "Oooh" and "Ahhh".

I love the Thor's lines, so hilarious and funny. Love the Arnold imitation.
Medivac was good too, Banshee portrait is hot as are her lines, love them.

In SC1, there were a multitude of attitudes, like the all egotistic wrath, the low self esteem SCV, the really nerdy science vessel, the Patton like Siege tank and the Russian Admiralty Battlecruiser. Units in SC2 have lost all of those in favor of a redneck setting with really no variation.

They all seem to have the same attitudes. All of them are like yeah? okay, lets go etc. None of them have that great old SC1 type characteristics. While the lines written for them are smart and witty, the delivery is just plain boring.

For instance the tank driver sounds like a 16 year old trying to pull off a 30 year old voice. Seriously trying to shout into the microphone. The hellion voice actor sounds like he didn't even want to be there, the ghost guy sounds like he can't finish a sentence.

Seriously hope these are very early beta voices and that they will need to do a lot of work with them. Because they just seem so completely boring. I swear it's the same voice actor doing the marine, SCV, hellion and ghost. Thor just sounds ridiculous, while funny for the first 5 times, it gets more and more annoying (I'm here, click me!??!?!) with the silly Arnold voice.

Although, all things point to voice acting being the last thing they are doing (Zerg adjudicator for example... oh god shoot me now if I hear another "We neeeed moooree... Mineralssssssssss"
Everything had more character in the 90s. The human race has since moved on, unfortunately.

My thoughts exactly. I also hope the protoss and zerg help voices are placeholders because they sound like a joke.

Yeah, I wanted to try Zerg. So I launched a game and as usual - I spam to make drones...

I then heard the most disgusting thing in my life

    "YOU REQUIRE MOOOOOAAR MINNEERAALLZZZ"
I immediately left the game and switched back to Terran/Protoss. True Story.

The Battle Cruiser's comic line is the best
    "ITS A TRAP!"
