Yeah, when it's crunch time for something most developers sleep at the office.

I'm assuming the forums that are locked out are the actual indeed finished ones, and will be opened come launch

But we could have speculated that before the polish one was brought open again. It's at the same level as well. Also, think of it in terms of production...
1. Blizzard DOES NOT WANT TO SHOW unpolished information is their public front.
2. Why have 8 different portions of a project at different "Levels". It makes sense to do it step by step across the board and is most cost efficient and production efficient. When looking at a deadline, which rest assured that the beta forums have, it makes more sense to ensure that production is efficient.
3. Ultimately, this seems like a mistake, which you even speculated before.
What I feel is a mistake you make often, Syndarm, is that your passion for the game gives you a hype-subjective view. When in reality, you have to give it an objective business minded view to find better speculation (that is typically more correct in time).
It probably helps though with me being in the industry (thus expirience in this sort of situation) and able to have a glimpse of what's happening inside Blizzard as well as outside.. so I'm sure that adds to my grounded view.
No offense is intended, I'm trying to give an opinion on something, even if it's incorrect. *respectful nod*
