Default Question about port SC+BW Singleplayer to SC II Engine.

Hello everyone, I'm new to this community but StarCraft always was my one of favourite games all the time.

First of all, if this idea was already discuses before then please guide me to specific thread.

What I asking is: Is it possible to port all singleplayer experience from SC+BW to SC II ?

Is it possible to make SC+BW maps that will act like in singleplayer mode ?

Is it possible to make SC+BW mission briefings to at least have the same dialogs&creatures ?

Maybe there is already a team who will do such thing ?

    Excuse for my poor English

    Can the map editor...?

    Yes, it can.

I'm sure there's dozens of groups planning on this.

The single player? you could remake the campaign in a reasonable amount of time Id say.

I dont really understand this question o.0 -- wait yes i do and yes you could link the maps together in a similar fashion

Is it possible to make SC+BW mission briefings to at least have the same dialogs&creatures ?
Im sure you could recreate the SC+BW mission briefings with some work.

Maybe there is already a team who will do such thing ?

Im sure there is someone who wants to do it, but more than likely the project will fail ;d

I dont really see a reason to remake single player SC in SC2, I always think the team that dose that woulda better spent some of there time creating a new campaign with there own ideas - hell the custom starcraft campaign are more interesting than the standard ones anyway imo

    Also welcome!

    Here's one:

Not all of it, due to the fact that it's 3d instead of 2d. You can come close, but you'll never get the same exact thing.

Is it possible to make SC+BW maps that will act like in singleplayer mode ?
    Sure.

Is it possible to make SC+BW mission briefings to at least have the same dialogs&creatures ?
Yes. But if those creatures' skin & models aren't provided you have to make them yourself.

Maybe there is already a team who will do such thing ?
    Probably.

Somebody will probably do something like this. Like I said, maybe I'll start one up. Alien, good to hear you are interested as well. I'm hoping we could discuss this sometime in the future.

But then again, we have to do this quick, since it's always fun to experiment with new things rather than remake something we've already experienced in the past.

I'm saying this because something tells me that having scbw in 3d doesn't really sound so exciting in the long run. At the start it will be awesome. So, the more of us working on the same goal to deliver faster with less individual workload, the better things will be.

    PM me.

    I don't see the connection.

I'm mainly interested in this in case new players want to play the original storyline in 3d, for free.

I personally don't have the leadership skills and experience to lead a team. What do you think, would you consider leading a team of 5 or 10 eager and ready map makers and have this project rolling into a nice and smooth process?

Say two weeks per map maker to remake a scenario. One week development, one week testing and polishing within the group. Something like that.

It all depends on how dedicated they are. It's a big project and it would definitely lose steam towards the end, but I'd definitely love to spearhead something like that.

    I totally agree.

I've been thinking though, what if we just let people submit their version of a certain mission, then have it voted upon before packaging the whole thing?

This might actually be better that it allows a lot more for everyone involved. There will be a lot of candidate maps, and there will be at least a wider space for creativity.

Also, I'm concerned how campaigns are structured and in SC2. Do we need each map to contain the modded data, etc.? This is important, I think, since we're going to need this modded data before anyone can start working on a mission/scenario in detail.
