    Quick Q:
Can I safely run texture quality on ultra in starcraft 2? It says that it needs 1024 mb graphic memory. But I got nvidia 460 GTX with "only" 768 mb. I haven't run into problems yet, but do you recommend turning it down to high (512 mb) instead?

    nope
high capacity of GPU memory is only required at high resolutions yet even then the GPU's core power it's the only thing that matters
the GTX460 can handle the game on ultra no problem, dunno bout your CPU

Mass Effect Universe Fan, I support Mass Effect 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for Game of the year award! ME2 still is being the best rated game this year! Keep it up

Thanks, but why does it say 1024 mb then?

I don't know about the rest of my computer, but I run on 1280 x 720. And in 1v1 I can't really notice any change. And when there is alot of units it doesn't really matter if I turn it to medium/high since the fps will only increase a little. Low on the other hand always run smooth.

But currently I am playing ultra just fine.

Edited the video card, I think it's a better card + a good "all-around" card for many monitors.

    Recommendation for sure.

Though this is the rare graphic error you will get if you play for a long time. It used to be a huge problem in the early days, you could really get messed up textures if you set em too high. I think most games today can automatically adjust.
Though I do not believe it is of any true indication that you need more memory. My 5770 is 1GB and I still get this occasionally. I say a memory leak or some bug in the programming.

And again you had to be pretty big noob about PC not to know about the change, I mean even the birds on the trees knew about it.
