It's OK that you didn't like Echoes of War; that just means you have a poor ear for music. But synthesized crap is synthesized crap; live performances, regardless of instruments, will always be superior. The compositions may be good, but you can always give good compositions to a good orchestra and achieve far better results than you would giving good compositions to a synthesizer.

Perhaps I shouldn't have said 'live orchestrated' music. Real intruments are obviously the ideal.

I say, keep the feel and atmosphere of the original track. This sounds like some parade band doing a cover. I can imagine batons and pompoms with the above.

The feel is the issue.

Of course they can do so much better with a hybrid. But, the above? I mean, 007 + Starwars + LotR? No way.

Yeah, I have to agree that song's kinda gay and do hope they re-invent the themes and motives for each race somewhat. En Taro Adun and The Hyperion Overture from that album was pretty dope I felt.

I remember hearing a Terran theme in the twilight level from Blizzcon 07's single player demo, and it sounded very reminiscent of Terran theme 1 in SCBW.

With the cut scenes and menus they can get more crazy and orchestrate things, but the music should be more subtle and relate to each race during gameplay, having moments of orchestrated goodness, but mostly ambient music.

And from what I've seen/heard, they are going this route. No worries in the sound department.

The acoustic guitar starts at about the 3 minute mark. It's gonna sound SOOO dope in-game.
